Hi Folks we to are going on the march 4-8th wonder cruise, myself, wife and two boys age 6 and 10.cant wait as its the boys first cruise.

I just joined this site. It is our first cruise and we are going on the March 4-8, 2007. My daughter will have her 8th birthday on the cruise. We are so excited.

Any tips on anything?

Hi -
Just joined as well but have been reading the boards for everything I can learn about the cruise. We will be on this cruise as well - myself and my DD 18. pirate:

We just joined the boards too. Forgive me if I don't know the lingo. My wife and I will be on this cruise with our 4 kids- girl 11, girl 8, girl 4, boy 1. We are getting very excited as this is our first Disney Cruise!!!! Anyone here with kids this age so they can have somebody to hang around with?

My husband and I have a daughter who will be turning 8 on the cruise.

Is this your first cruise?

It seems so far away, but it will be here before we know it.

:santa: hello all well if nothing else, all of us at this post seem to have children very close to each other in age :yay: so i'm sure they will run into each other in the clubs if they attend .does anybody know the kids menu choices at dinner if you've been on dcl before?

Yup, first Disney Cruise and first cruise for the kids. They don't know yet and won't until the day we leave. It mind sound bad but I just can't listen to "it" for the next 3 months.

Kids Menus are in the FAQ site. I can't put a link in right now.

You betcha! My husband does the whole fantasy sports thing, so he follows the NFL pretty closely, but our family always roots for the hometown guys.

Sorry, can't way we are Viking fans - have friends that are. Panthers are our team and Boise State University is the college team.

But, I can say you have an absolutely gorgeous family.

It is getting close. Is everyone ready?

No problem there. The Panthers are about as good as the Vikings this year, anyway:rotfl:

Hope everyone had great holidays. Ours was wonderful. Spent it in warm and sunny Illinois (no really, it was warm - not like cruise warm, but for Illinois in winter it was great) with 16 family members (we were all there from across the U.S.).

Flights for us were great, no delays. That seems to happen when going through Minnesota instead of Denver. Also allowed them to bump us because of overbookings and got 3 free roundtrip tickets, free night at a fancy hotel and food vouchers. Not a bad deal when no one in a rush to get home and house sitter more than happy to stay one more night.

Well, now that holidays over, got to really think and get ready for the BIG trip. Anyone doing the land part before the cruise, if so, where are you staying?

Has anyone booked excursions yet and what are you thinking of doing? This is all new to us, so I hope I picked the right excursions. Thought we would do our own thing in Nassau (my DH and DD-8 want to see the forts and Queen's Staircase, then maybe Atlantis), I figured we could accomplish more on our own than a tour. At Castaway Cay we are doing the catamoran snorkeling, DH and DD are doing the glass bottom boat and I am doing a cabana massage. Then just hanging out on the beach.

I figure at DW we only have 3 days and time to hit only 3 of the 4 parks. We are thinking Epcot first, then Animal Kingdom and MGM and if we get bored will do Magic Kingdom some. We have done Magic Kingdom at DW and DL several times, so not as big a deal for us. Any thoughts/suggestions.

Linda

I'm seriously thinking of bringing DD11 and DD8 to the Blue Lagoon Dolphin Swim at Nassau. Only way to do it is to book it yourself but I hear it is a "Once in a lifetime" thing and I would love the girls to have that memory. Definitley not cheap, though. DW, DD4 and DS1 would be staying on the ship. The wife and I have been to Nassau before and I really am not too keen about bringing the young'ns off the ship.
We are coming into Port Canaveral on Saturday morning and staying at the Residence Inn. Will probably just hang out and relax for the day before the cruise. We are starting to get crazy excited (Too bad the kids still don't know:banana: )

Is there a link or some way I can find out more about the Dolphin Swim? Is it truely a dolphin swim or just one of those encounter things?

I have always wanted to swim with dolphins, but for some reason, on this trip, I haven't really looked into it. Someone did tell me the one that you can book through the cruise is not worth it and someone else told me it was. I think I was going to wait until we took a longer cruise somewhere else or someone told me to do the one at SeaWorld.

Too many things to do, decisions to make and suggestions.

Linda

The swim is more of what I was looking for, but I will have to run it by my family. I think my DD would only want to do the encounter, but I would want the swim and my DH probably would just do observer. I didn't see an answer to this question, but if my DD-8 wanted to do the encounter while I did the swim could we do that or would she have to be on the same program I am on?

What time are you considering? And since you have done Nassau before, would we have time to either do the fort and staircase before or after? Trying to cram to much into this trip I think.

Looks like Panthers are going to playoffs but Vikings didn't make it. I don't have faith that Panthers are going to get far, we think they got lucky to get this far. Although we would just LOVE to see them beat Dallas.

Linda

Sorry, but I have to inform you that like the Vikings, Carolina has been eliminated from the Playoffs. Hey, there is always next year:guilty: .

As for Nassau, I think we dock at 9am and have to be back onboard by 6 or 7pm. . The Dolphin excursion place said to set aside 3-3 1/2 hrs so you should have time to do other things. I put in for reservations yesterday and they haven't gotten back to me yet. I think you can put in for what you would like but in the end you get what's available.
