March 4, 2007 Wonder - Anyone Else?

My husband misinformed me, he said the Panthers made it, but the Vikings did not.

I just looked at the cruise schedule. Departs Nassau at 7:00 pm, I was thinking 5:00 pm, but that is Castaway Cay.

I still can't decide how badly I want it this time. The water temp looks like it might be cold at that time of year (around 72), that is really cold to me. I just don't know.

Linda

I hear what you're saying about the water temp. . I am not a cold weather person whatsoever, but I think I might have to bite the bullet for this one. I did read somewhere on the Dolphin Swim website that they have wetsuits, so that might be a possibility.

I read about the wetsuits also, they are provided free (the 1/2 kind - not the full). And we are bringing our full wetsuits in case the snorkeling is cold.

After talking to my DH he brought up a great point, I have really bad knees and he stated I probably would not be able to keep them stiff and straight for the foot push. He recommended if we do it to stick with the encounter. He doesn't know the cost of any of it, so it isn't about that. He just doesn't want me to get something I can't do and then be bummed out about it.

Linda

Nope, he has a valid point. It would really stink to get there and not be able to do everything.

I trust everyone is rooting for Boise State during the Fiesta Bowl?

Linda

I LOVE the Underdog:thumbsup2

AWESOME GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 I think the Broncos really do deserve a chance at the Nat'l Championship. You can't argue with Undefeated.

I'm not much into football, but that was an awesome game. My husband was at his brother's watching it (I had a child to get to bed at a decent hour) and when he came home his statement was "I would hate to be a cop downtown (we live outside of Boise) tonight".

We tend to like the underdog also; guess that is why we like the Panthers :)

I am getting waaay excited about the cruise. I have to take copies of our passports to my agent today and I think I am going to buy more travel stuff. You know just the right purse, suitecase, luggage tags, etc (the ones I have just won't do - don't know why - just give me an excuse to buy more things).:happytv:

Have a good day. I suppose I should get serious and do something productive today.

Linda

can't belive its almost here after all the planning thats still going on.looking to do a couple days in fla. after we get off cruise. probaly space center and a spring training game at walt disney world sports complex to unwind

We are getting pumped. Just made reservations at the Country Inn and Suites for the night before. Anyone else????

Linda, I finally got our reservations back for the Dolphin Swim. They are at 10:30am so we will be cutting it close getting to the Blue Lagoon boat I think. What did you guys decide on?

we will be driving down the day before and are staying in orlando sat.night and making the hour drive to port on sunday.

Frazzleddad, I think we are going to forgo the dolphin swim and maybe do it some other trip and just hang out in Nassau (do the forts, etc). I have heard it is really easy to overdo it on the land/sea package, so we are trying to keep it low keyed (plus gives us an excuse to go back).

Are you guys doing any excursions at Castaway Cay? We are snorkeling in the morning and DH and DD are glass bottom boating early afternoon while I go for a cabana massage.

We are getting excited. We own our own commercial construction business and of course, things are just going like crazy with that right now, so we are trying to manage everything at once. The cruise will be great. We are always connected (cell phones, computers, etc), but with the cruise at least we will get a few days without cell phones ringing, still will have to check in on email, but that's o.k. - it will be nice to sit through a dinner without the phone ringing.

Linda

Hi everyone! I will also be on this cruise with my DH and our DS2. My DH booked it for me as a Christmas surprise! I can't wait!

Welcome Michelle.

Have you ever done one of these cruises before?

I booked this for my husband's present, but he guessed it before Christmas. He said getting the passports gave it away, but I think he saw something on the computer. Who knows, who cares, it will be a blast whether he guessed it or it was a total surprise.

Linda

I've done 5 Disney Cruises (1- 7 night; 2- 3 nights; 2- 4 nights), the most recent being this past Thanksgiving. That's when my DH rebooked on board to surprise me. I had no clue! There is nothing like a Disney Cruise! You are hooked after the first one! I can't wait!

I have heard it is very addicting. I haven't even gone yet gone yet and I am trying to figure out when we can go again.

So do you do just the cruise or the land/cruise package? Any suggestions for us newcomers?

Linda

I don't think we are going to do much on CC except relax with the kids and eat, of course. Who knows, we'll just play it by ear when we get there.

Welcome, Michelle. Here's to a great cruise for everyone. :thumbsup2

We are staying at a timeshare in Kissimmee for 4 nights before the cruise. This is going to be a relaxing vacation for us because we were just there in November. We don't feel like we need to race around to see everything. I don't even think that we will get off the ship in Nassau. We are just looking forward to lounging around on the Wonder.

Hi. Just join the forum, though I have been silently reading and trying to learn to navigate around in here for a while. Just came accross this thread today. My family will also be on this cruise. We are on the Land and Sea package and will be staying at Carribean Beach before the cruise. We have two children, a girl who is 7 (almost 8) and a boy who is 5.

With respect tot he dolphine encounter/swim, the dolphin swim is not offered through Disney. You have to book it yourself through the excusion operator. Therefore, I would doubt that it would work to have the mom on the swim and the daughter on the encounter (unless she is old enough to be on her own on the excursion). We are doing the encounter as a family (mainly because I did not learn about the swim until well after we reserved the encounter and because my son can not swim).

Can not wait for the day to leave to finally arive. Finding this thread has made the anticpation even greater. Sounds like many of your children are the same age as ours.

Welcome, Doug. Looks like there's going to be quite a few 7-8 year old girls. Hopefully they can all meet and have fun together.
