Thanks Tammy, for all the great info & pointers!!!!

I'm hoping to get Palo ressies as soon as we board as well.. I have the butterfly excursion booked through Disney...Did you do this through Disney or on your own????

So was the beverage station etc. roped off for your whole trip (minus the first few days). glad that you and your family where able to avoid the bug

Thanks again for taking the time to share with us:flower3:

Hi!
Yes, we did book through Disney. And, it was ok, not great but it was a nice time. We had plenty of time though if we had wanted to also go to a beach for few hours and take a taxi there. But, we opted to go back to the ship and go to the kids pool.

Yes, the beverage station was roped off the rest of the time until I believe Saturday morning then I guess the didn't care if anyone got sick again or not:rotfl: You could also serve yourself again at topsiders. I'm sure it's because the extra people that came out of the woodwork were needed to get the ship ready for the next group.

Another thing I wanted to mention was the kids Mickey Pool. Another girl from our group was very disappointed - said they were always closing the pool to clean or disinfect it. Toddlers/babies were apparently being put in to areas they were not supposed to be and either pooping or throwing up. I didn't experience that as we were only to the pool three times. It was to hard having my son that could pretty much only to into the mickey splash ear and my daughter into the larger part. My son constantly wanted to go where his sister was and it was a constant battle.

I haven't read back far enough to know if your group has posted pictures of yourself or not. But, our group did and it was invaluable!!! I was constantly recognizing people from pictures as I was unable to make our initial meet and greet on the ship.

Hi Tammy,
Thanks for the insights and suggestions. Yes we have posted pictures, just not here. I also thought it would be a good idea to have some idea what we all looked like.

I just got off the phone with Shirley! She is so sweet (girlfriend) and had so many ideas that I hadn't even thought of. I cannot wait to see the reactions of DH and my DD's. I love surprises!
When I told her the sail date she said, "Oh you're saling with the Wild Bunch".:rotfl: I guess some of you have made quite an impression.
Rebecca -- I LOVE that we already have a reputation to uphold!!!!!!:lmao:

O.K. fellow lady cruiser's...I have to ask..how many of you (including myself) have spent the morning trying on clothes, and figuring out what to pack????

Only 2 more weeks till we set sail!!!! Can you stand it???
I've already ruled out the clothes from last year and started shopping...we went last night but I didn't like anything so I'm off to Kohl's today to try again!

Should I be worried? I haven't gotten my docs yet.....
We have 2 staterooms and received one set of docs last Wednesday but the other set still isn't here :sad2:

I have it on good authority (my TA's FIL & MIL live in St. Thomas) that Magen's Bay is paradise :beach: and that we must order a "Bushwacker" - she warns that the drink is all alcohol and packs quite a punch :teeth:
We are planning to do Trunk Bay so I will miss out on the Bushwacker - maybe a good recipe to share for those that are going and can talk the bartender into giving out the recipe? We are a quiet bunch and promise not to tell anyone! :rotfl2: I have a recipe for "Pink Lemonade" which doesn't have a drop of lemonade in it - sure to knock you off your feet!

OK. Sirus and I finally made up. I just took him for the first post-near-house-burning-down walk and we kissed and made up. And had a long talk about the danger of brownies.

I was pretty ticked off at him for a the last couple of days, but even I can't stay mad for forever.

Mark
LOL Mark! :rotfl: Sorry to hear about the house fiasco - and glad to hear it wasn't as bad as it could've been!

Also, right after we made PALO res. we went to guest services to book TEA WITH WENDY. They a tea party on Tues and Thurs. And from what I understand they book fast...no charge for this...wish I could tell you how it was, but my daughter fell asleep and I couldn't wake her up for it!!!

Tammy
Tammy - You didn't miss much missing Tea With Wendy. Or maybe it was just we didn't get much out of it because DD was too old for it (10 at the time of our last Disney cruise). I even videotaped it but then later recorded over it because it was kind of boring. Maybe others enjoyed it but we decided to not do it again.

We will be right there with you at Rockin' Bar D getting Palo ressies - we have ressies for dinner for 3 of us but we have a party of 5 and weren't able to all eat together.
We did the Butterfly Farm through Disney on our last Disney cruise in 2005 and I enjoyed it. Our driver was very informative on the drive to the farm and the butterflies were beautiful. The shopping at the end was short but we were able to make up for it when we got back to port.

Hart, and anyone else who wants to join in:
We are going to do excursions on our own this time - the more the merrier!
St. Maarten: we will be going to either Simpson Bay or Little Bay (where ever the jet skis are!) and jet ski and parasail in the AM. Then we are heading over to Maho to watch the planes coming into Princess Julianna airport around 12:30-1:00pm when the big planes are scheduled to come in. After that we are heading back to port to the liquor store to get some good deals on alcohol to bring home.

St. Thomas: I just finished printing off the ferry schedule but then saw Rebecca's PM about doing Trunk Bay on our own. Looks like we have Kim, Norm and family and Rebecca and family going with us but anyone can join in! Thanks Rebecca for figuring out the logistics on this!

I think that is it.... For those doing the Palo brunch on Sunday - we will be sitting down to our brunch in EXACTLY 2 WEEKS!!!!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

just checking in...and bumping us up...Gung Hey Fat Choy! That's happy new year in Chinese and it is said phonetically if anyone is wanting to spread good cheer! (sorry, that is the teacher in me!) Happy President's day too (ooopss, there I go again!)

I am off to Michael's tomorrow to buy a pillowcase for autographs for my daughter...

Anyone have door signs made up that they would like to share?

Happy Sunday...oh what the heck...happy everything, everybody!

GUNG HAY FAT CHOY to you as well.

One of the Industrial Engineers in our DC is originally from China and I try to remember every year to wish him Happy New Year and to give hims some "lucky money".

The March Maniac Madness Mob sign on the .mac site is one of my signs. I have a number of others I need to finish and print. No, I wont post all of them in case I get the urge to decorate someone else's door.

I am working on door signs today. I spent a lot of time last night looking through the posts on the door signs thread and also over on the 'Creative DIS-signs forum'. Some people are so clever. Our room is right at the mid-ship elevators so I want to do it up right.
Do you all use the magnetic paper, magnetic sleeves, or do you laminate your signs and use the magnetic strip tape? Trying to figure the easiest way to do it.
Are we all planning to print one of the signs Alanapapa made and put those on our doors too? Gosh, there is so much I still have to do!

I use magnetic paper. Do a trial run to make sure it fits throught the paper path on your printer. Last time I had to fiddle with the settings to get it to print right.

I cut out 116 mickey heads of all colors(:ssst: got them from home depot) and plan on bringing some black sharpie markers along with the self adhesive magnetic strips....Thought that during our Dis meets, that anyone who wanted to, could pick the color of there choice, and put there name on the head and then stick it to their stateroom door....

The way our group is growing:grouphug: I might need to pick up a few more?????

Thanks alanapapa for working on the posters!!!!!

Won't be long Johnna and Mark till those jellybeans will be in single digits!!!!!

We got a 5 ft pirate to hang on our door. One of types with the movable arms and legs. We got ours at a party supply store when we were picking up other items for the room.

We plan to decorate one of the three rooms when we first get on the ship so the kids will walk into a festive room. Myself and my brother are going to keep the kids occupied while wife and SIL go down and decorate the rooms. We also got a lot of little goodie to build "baskets" with for the kids. Of course our baskets are little cardboard treasure chests we also picked up at the party store. We also had t-shirts made for all 10 of us so we can do the cheesy family all dressed alike thing. Should be loads of fun. You guys can spot us in the bright yellow shirts with "Moffitt Madness" printed on it.

Hope to see you all there!

Mike

The Taggarts have personalized T-shirts too...Just our family name, some fancy disney font writing with the DCL logo and 2007 on it....I made them myself with the iron-on transfer sheets for our first cruise that got cancelled due to dd illness...thank goodness I did not put the full date on them....I did do a pillowcase with the real date and a celebrating a birthday theme on it...so I am headed to Michael's tomorrow for the replacement case...thinking of doing an un-birthday theme (from Alice in Wonderland) this time since it is her unbirthday celebration this time!

I am going to check out the creative DIS board as well for some ideas...only thing is my printer isn't the best...maybe I will forward it to myself at work and print it there...:ssst:

Have a nice night...gonna go catch up with my DVR and Grey's Anatomy!
Michelle

Oh no!! We were down, almost to the bottom of the second page.

:confused3 :confused3 What is up with the March Magical Maniac Mob, we aren't talking all of a sudden? Are we all too busy getting ready for the trip which starts one week from Saturday? One week from Saturday, I have a lot to do.:faint:

Well, we spent most of today out shopping. Bought some clothes, some shoes, some hats...We got home and started looking for enough suitcases...I think we are going to have to go buy another one or two. Heck, our biggest suitcase is completely full of all of our shoes...Then there's the suitcase full of the decorations and stuff to build the kid's welcome baskets with...We haven't even packed one piece of clothing yet and we are down 2 suitcases...This isn't looking good.

Mike

Opinions please, for those who have been to St Martin before, which beach did you go to and did you like it. We have St Thomas & CC all set and we just want to sit an enjoy a lovely tropical island beach on the St Martin day. We have been once before and we went to Mullet Bay. Stressing that I don't have this day set in my mind yet.

That's Funny!!!!!:lmao: :lmao: I'm going to make sure Ron reads your post...So when I start packing, and adding suitcases... he will know that it's just not me:rotfl: :rotfl:

He's always aksing...How many pairs of shoes did you pack!!!!!

I haven't even started packing yet! I will be shopping this week - probably either Thursday or Saturday. DD Morgan and I have an appt for pedicures this Saturday and I will be taking her shopping for "summer" clothes. She still has no idea about this trip. We finally decided to not tell her until we are on the way to the airport. But she needs shorts, a bathing suit, and sunglasses. I wrote my packing list so I guess I better start actually putting stuff in the suitcases. I tried to start packing yesterday, but honestly it was so overwhelming I just put it all away.

Man, you are so good! There is no way I could keep a secret like that from the girls! When we went on our last cruise/WDW trip, Andrew and I kept it a secret for 2 months and that was bad enough!

Trust me, it isn't easy! We've screwed up plenty of times but thankfully we were able to cover each mistake. ;) We were going to do a game or treasure hunt but this weekend we decided to just pick her up from school Friday morning under the guise of an orthodontist appt and then...SURPRISE! We will have all of her bags packed and ready to go. My mom actually did this to my dad for his 50th birthday - she packed everything up and we drove him to the airport. Since we had a layover in NC, he had no idea where we were going. During the layover my mom gave him a wrapped present and it had the official Disney guide in it. The look on his face was priceless! That was the trip I officially fell in love with Disney - no one other than Disney can create magic like that!
