We are all planning on dressing up in full pirate gear, including my Mom! Last time. we were of the few families that did dress up.

thank you to everyone who has respnded to us. if this is the class of people going on the cruise with us, i have no doubt this will be a great vacation.

Hi, and welcome! I have a DD9 as well (and DS5 and 1/2). Your screen name caught my eye, as Stokes is my maiden name...my parents grew up in Massachusetts and my aunt used to live in Connecticut!

We're doing Pirates of the Caribbean t-shirts (from Disneyland), jeans, and bandanas on pirate night...and eye patches and earrings for the kids. Definitely not full pirate gear, but more than we did last time--we just did matching tropical outfits on our first cruise and used the bandanas they gave out in the dining room.

deleted as I had not seen Caro's response

Is it wrong that I feel like the kid in the Disney commercial that says, "I can't sleep! I'm too excited!!!"? :lmao:

Seriously though, it's true! Exactly one month from today, we will be flying to FL!!!!!!! Come on warm weather!!!

we are flying out 4 weeks from today also:cool1: :cool1: That means FL weather has exactly 4 weeks to get the cold out of it's system:thumbsup2

CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:beach:

No it is not wrong to feel that way. I think we all do. Caro & I were just discussing that in 28 days, at this time in the morning, we will be in the air, almost to Orlando.

Happy GroundHog's day to everyone

We're really looking forward to the trip - ALREADY!!

We have a countdown tradition that we will start on Friday: Mark and the kids will fill a jar with 365 jellybeans, and every other day, both DD and DS will get a jellybean in anticipation of the trip. We tried giving one a jb one day, and the other one the next day, but as any of you with two kids knows, THAT didn't work out so well. So they both get one every other day. It's an easy visual way for them to see how close the trip is getting.

Gotta go out to get the air-tight jar and jellybeans this week! :goodvibes

There should only be 29 jellybeans left in that jar!!!!:thumbsup2

I told my girls the very samething this morning, as I was trying to drag them out of bed....I said "Just think, 4 weeks from today instead of being in bed..you'll be at the airport, getting ready to fly to Orlando!!!!":cool1: (didn't really help get them up though:sad2: )

Sounds good - I'll wait to hear from Mark on this one, but this way I can fax on the ressie either tonight (I think I have a fax machine in somewhere here at home that I could hook up!) or tomorrow morning from the office! I'm going to try for the Monday brunch, as I have reservations for High Tea on the Thursday (not sure exactly what that will entail, but it's in Palo's so it can't be bad:rotfl: )

Would love to be on the second brunch list if no one else wants it..

For those of us flying back home on Sunday, March 11...
I read in the newspaper this morning that Daylight Savings Time will start and end earlier now. It is now starting March 11. So we will need to remember to change our claocks or we will be late to the airport.

Oh, and if anyone is interested, I found really cute disney lanyards for ID/KTTW on ebay...around 6 dollars a piece on Ebay....Ebay was my first internet love....DIS quickly has become my mistress who demads all my attention...they had a wide selection too! Let me know if any one is is interested and would like the seller's name.

Michelle

Michelle - I think repeat DCL cruisers (aka - Castaway Club members) get lanyards - I'm going to check the main boards if this is still true. If not, I'd like the seller's name. Please PM it to me! Thanks!! Johnna

I ended up with 13 names, which I faxed over - so there would be space for one - now don't you and Johnna go fighting over this, though - we could always sneak one of you in at a time or sneak food out - or you could just send DUncle:rotfl:

Just when I thought the Dr. was going to release me to go back to work. He did release me but with weight restrictions for 2 weeks. I went and called my work and they said until he releases you to full duty you can't come back to work.(DARN). Heck I'm still receiving short term disability, this just means 2 weeks closer to vacation without having to work.

PS: After this weeks Eastern only one more Eastern and then ouor will be the next.

Talk at you all later..

Work is highly overrated. Just think of this as practise for sitting by the pool sipping the drink-of-the-day. :drinking:

Yeah! :cool1: We've been switched to the main dinner seating:banana: Went shopping tonight for the sunscreen and last minute things (I know, it's not really "last minute", but it was my way of procrasinating and not studying ;) ) :goodvibes

We went shopping tonight too. DH really needed a new suit. He wears a uniform at work and we don't do many things that require dressing up so his last suit was bought around 1996. It was a little, um, snug around the middle. :rolleyes1 He also got a tie to match DD9's dress for formal night. I'll probably wear black and DD4 will most likely wear a princess costume. I know the little girls wear princess dresses but do they wear them on formal night too? Trying to decide if I really want to spend $ for a dress for DD4 so she'll match the rest of us for photos or just let her wear her Belle dress?

For pirate: night DH and the girls have pirate tees. The girls' tees have a skull and crossbones with a pink bow on the skull. I have black/white striped pirate-y looking shirt and we'll all wear black pants.

(DD9 is watching me type this and loves the smilies so she picked these.)
:cheer2: popcorn:: :rotfl: :tinker: :moped:

As far as I recall, princess dresses were worn on formal night. I mean, really, how much more formal can a gown be, if it's a princess ball gown??? Royalty is, afterall, the height of formality;)

DD9 - great choices! I especially like Tink:)

Joanna, I thank you for your help, your suggestion about the food and such, I am in panic mode now, trying to book flight, room night before. I would like to still have the meet for as many as can squeeze in, right after lifeboat drill, how does that sound? I will arrange the bubbly as well!!! 8022 here we come!!:cool1:
