Sorry...I missed the "Can"!!!!! :rotfl: I actually do not know the answer to your question :confused3 but the strawberries and champagne sound doable to me :thumbsup2

WOW!!! It's fun to put faces to the Story family. What great pictures, Thanks for sharing them w/ all of us.. Mark, did you rent your tux onboard,???? Ron would probably prefer his suit over the tux...but the tux looks so nice, and if you can rent it while onboard, that would save alot of suitcase room!!!! So we may just have to look into that.

AS for the evening gown...you won't be seeing me in one either, maybe if I had one I would consider it... Where we live, we don't get many opportunities like this to get real dressed up. So when given the chance, it's always alot of fun for us :) ( maybe not so much for Ron LOL.... but for the girls and myself anyway)

Hey everyone,

I merged from my fog earlier this week and made Palo reservations and just one shore excursion (the submarine tour on St. Thomas, that we missed last year because my little guy threw up on the boat ride out) and that was it.

I am absolutely still planning on making a brunch reservation (or two) for our group. I'm thinking one for Sunday morning (to get the cruise off to a good start) and another for Thursday morning.

Although I had a hard drive crash and lost my "everything Disney" document, I do recall that I can make reservations for the back room at Palo about 30 days from the sailing date, and need to do so by faxing Disney. Just for giggles, I'll call later today and confirm that.

And it's 12 degrees this morning in suburban Washington, DC. I need little sunshine over here...

We will all be wearing Pirate Outfits (including my Mom) for Pitrate night. Andrew and I will be wearing the same ones from last cruise, but we got the girls new ones. Last time they were Tinkerbell and Wendy. We bought my Mom a female Pirate one and she even wore it on Halloween!
We will be getting dressed up for Formal Night. Andrew is planning on renting a tux onboard. We still have to find dresses for the girls and I. Alana is quite excited abouy getting a "formal!" I'm not sure what my Mom will be wearing yet, I need to talk to her about it.

Rebecca and Stacy,
Norman, Josh and I are definately going to Trunk Bay. We purchased snorkel equip and we're going to use it! There is supposed to be a snorkel path you can take. We've been to Trunk Bay and it is beautiful. That was before we snorkeled in Grand Cayman and Cozumel so I'm excited to have a comparison. Trunk Bay has gotten rave reviews and listed as one of the most beautiful in the world. Taking a ferry, taxi, etc. is no worry for me. Each location usually has availability. Do you know how to hop a water taxi? The open-air land taxis shouldn't be a problem, right??

I'm so excited. It's coming so quickly.

As far as formal night - we don't dress up that much. I wear a nice dress and boys wear suit jackets. Not necessarily black either. My tip for you all - pick something you'll like your picture to be taken of. After dinner we go back and go to the shows comfortable.

DRIVE AN HOUR AND A HALF??? Have you guys heard of this new thing they invented? It's called the internet. You can actually shop without going to a store. You should try it sometime. :goodvibes

Seriously - I feel for you. Even I don't drive an hour and a half to go shopping. And forget Mark. He doesn't even drive a mile to go shopping - his philosophy: why leave the house if I don't have to?? :confused3

The inter....what???? :rotfl: Yes, as a matter of fact I have heard of it, and if I don't say so myself.... I do quite well at surfing the net...If you don't belive me, just look at all my disney points I have racked up!!!??? LOL :rotfl2:

Actually, the real reason we went out of town was a routine Doctor appt. So I just toke advantage of the situation... :thumbsup2

Ron read your post and laughed, he, like Mark (and I'm sure most men) is not a fan of the whole shopping scene either, on the rare occasion that he does go shopping with us, you will most generally find him in either the magazine section, or in the car sleeping!!! MEN :confused3

See ya

Carapooh and Alanapapa is everyone o.k. over there? Sounds like you guys got pounded yesterday and the power and everything is out and a mess. Just wanted to make sure you guys are o.k.

I haven't been able to get ahold of my brother in Seattle, so I am hoping he is o.k. We have a really close family (emotionally, not residentially), so I am assuming by hearing nothing from my parents, everything is fine. My parents are actually in Illinois, but I think they talk to him everyday.

We didn't get any warranty calls on our buildings in Olympia, so we are hoping for the best over there.

Let us all know how you guys are doing.

I'm at work now and we have power. At home, we haven't had power since about 10:30 last night. There were over a million people without power in the area. They have brought teams in from other places to try and get it restored. Who knows how long thta will take. School for the girls was cancelled today due to the outages. It is a real mess around here with all the trees down. It took me 3 diffrent trys on different routes to get home last night. Hopefully it will be bettewr tonight. It's supposed to get close to freezing tonight. I guess we'll just snuggle close together and use lots of blankets.
Thanks for asking!

I am sure glad everyone is o.k. It is amazing how being on these boards makes you care about the people. I was worried about you guys, it sounds awful over there.

Is there concern of pipes freezing? My brother was supposed to leave (drive - he is crazy) from Seattle today or tomorrow to drive all the way to Illinois for Christmas.

Any ideas on how to book a massage on Castaway Cay? I have tried to find it through Disney Cruise, but just can't find it and I think I have looked everywhere. I might just be missing a step.

I am on the 4 day cruise starting on the 4th and can start booking the 18th. Do things really book up that quickly, do I need to stay up and start booking at midnight? And if so, who's midnight (mine or Florida's)? That would be 2:00 a.m. my time, I like my sleep. We are only planning on booking at Castaway Cay, the snorkeling, glass bottom boat and massage. Nassau we are going to do our own thing, my DD and DH want to go to the fort and Qeen's Stairway and I don't seen an excursion for that, plus I have heard the excursions have lots of potty stops and aren't very time efficient. I have a pretty hyper active bunch and they don't do breaks very well.

Linda

Glad to hear everyone is ok too, although I don't know what happened (I don't like to watch the news and haven't heard anything) - just wanted to add my warm and fuzzy thoughts :goodvibes

Latest update on us in Seattle! W'll I'm typing this form work again. We have had power since Friday night (10:00ish) but still no cable or internet. The girls had no school today due to power outages still at some schools in the district. Still don't know about tomorrow yet, that is there last day befoe wihter break. They now have 4 days they have to make up at the end of the year because of the snow 2 weeks ago and now the wind. Things are slowly getting back in order. The hospitals have been having alot of carbon monoxide poisoning reported. with some deaths. It has been an interesting couple weeks to say the least!
ETA- No school again on Tuesday. 8 schools in the district still without power and 20 without phone service.

I talked to my brother, who lives in Seattle, today and he said his area was fine; no power outages, etc. His house had 2 little leaks, but it is a really old house and they are redoing it anyways; he just didn't plan on starting on those areas so soon, but he is now. My brother lives at 48th Ave SW in Seattle.

His mother-in-law, who lives on Mercer Island, on the other hand has been living with them since the storm. Mercer Island has been without power since the storm and they just started restoring power to the businesses today, but the residentials are still down.

My sister-in-law's school was closed Friday (they have 3 days to make-up so far), but that was their last day before the break. I am not sure what school she is at, but I know it is in Seattle and not considered a good school. I guess it has a lot of problem kids and gangs.

Linda

We are finally back online at home. We have Cable Internet and Cable TV.

the girls did not go to school again yesterday as 8 schools in the district had no power and 20 had foulded up phone systems. Break started officially today. Cable came back about a half hour ago. :cool1: :Pinkbounc  :cheer2:

Hope all is well for everyone.

Hello everyone!!! We are setting here in a BLIZZARD!!!!!!! Looks like we will be having a white Christmas this year!!!!

Christmas Break started early for us as well... The girls didn't have school today and tommorrow is called off as well.. So.... everyone is pretty excited here! It is COLD here, and lots of snow. The kids will be having fun tommorrow, rolling around in it.

Fortunately, we have not lost our electricity, that for sure would take the fun out of the day!!! We did however, not have T.V. most of the day.

So is everyone getting close to being ready for Christmas... Surprisingly, I think I'm very close to being finished!!! Emily helped me today, and we wrapped gifts, so Yeah Hooray for that part being done, and the cards are sealed and ready for the mail..so double yeah hooray!!!! :thumbsup2

We will be having both our families over for Christmas ( on different days/ 23 on Saturday, 18 on Monday) we are looking forward to having everyone over. We are fortunate that both of our families all live within 30 miles of each other..(we both grew up here). It will although, be a hard Christmas, as it will be our first without Ron's Mom, she was so dear to all of us, it has been so hard.

Our post has been rather quite....I know that everyone is busy.... Hope all is well w/ everyone...

Brenda :)

Merry (early) Christmas to everyone!!! I just read the post that the boards will be upgraded this weekend so I wanted to get on here while I still could!! No Disboards all weekend? Whatever shall I do?? :confused3 ;)

Glad to hear everyone is safe, despite the bad weather. I hope you all enjoy the long holiday weekend, with family (lots of family for Brenda!) and friends, and loved ones. Hope Santa brings you everything you want for Christmas this year!!

The Storys

Thought I'd check in before the boards go off this weekend. We've been busy since the girls got out of school last week. On Monday my DD's and I went to Disneyland with my best friend and her two DD's. We had the best day. The park was a lot less crowded than I expected-maybe due to the cold weather? I know, our cold weather is not really that cold but it was the first time we ever wore gloves and hats at the park.
There is nothing like Disneyland at Christmas to put one in a holiday spirit. Seeing Captain Jack pirate: on POC and all the pirate gear everywhere made me even more excited for the cruise. It will be here before we know it.

I hope everyone is staying warm this weekend and to those who are travelling-may it be safe and speedy.
Merry Christmas!

Hey all,
It's been a long time (probably a year) since I've checked in. I'm trying to get caught up a little bit. I've seen that someone is keeping a spreadsheet with all of our info. If you could add us, that would be great!

Mike, Kerri, Melanie (11), and Derek (8)

Also cruising with us is my brother's family. Not sure of all the kid's ages so I'll let them post it when they can. But basically it's Bobby and Misty +4 kids.

We've got cruise and airfare paid for and just looking for hotel Friday night and transportation Saturday morning and back.

We are all getting excited and can't wait till the trip!

Mike
