I am bumping us up...I have been so busy with preparation that I haven't been around...

We are mostly packed...not that great of an accomplishment as we were more than 1/2 there in January before our cancelled 1/20 trip...I just kept the suitcases full and put them away!

Couple ?s for anyone who is around...

Palo brunch...what is the recommended dress code for that...what are you all wearing...

Kids and $...Emily has saved her own money for the trip...I don't want her to have charging privileges on our KTTW card, so can money be placed on her card for just her...you know...earmarked (no pun intended, but cute nonetheless!) I have heard about people giving kids $ for the arcade, how is that done...is that just from the family's account with a verbal warning about a set limit? What have you done? Can she use a disney gift card for payment for purchases? Any ideas or suggestions?

Michelle
Michelle -- We haven't packed at all if it makes you feel any better and I am an obsessive planner! I'm going to pack as much as possible this afternoon since the snow is preventing me from going shopping... Anyway, Palo brunch is (like Jessica said) cruise casual -- I am wearing a pair of capris with a nice top and sandals. DH is going to wear khakis and a polo shirt - no jeans allowed in Palo. As for kids and money... Morgan was 10 on our last cruise (almost 11) and we gave her a particular amount she could spend - we had her keep a check book register of sorts to keep track - BUT there was nothing we could do to prevent her from overspending. You can pull your stateroom charges anytime you want at guest services and cut off her charging at any time. The arcade has cards you purchase with your KTTW card. It depends on the kid - if you think she is responsible enough to be trusted with a verbal limit then go for it! But the only spending on board and on Castaway Cay is with your Key To The World card - disney gifts cards, cash, etc can be applied to your stateroom account at guest services.

Good luck!

I think Diversions is Andrew's favorite place on the ship!!! But I think we already said the promenade lounge is better because is more open and will be much easier for that many people (119? - is that right??) Plus don't they usually set up one of the sign-up desks in Diversions on the first day???

SO - ON BOARD CRUISE MEET: 2:30 - 3:30 AT THE PROMENADE LOUNGE (DECK 3 BTW. PARROT CAY AND LUMIERE'S.)

Hope those who already started their vacation get the message...

Sorry I've "gone dark" (as Jack Bauer would say:) ) for the past few days - been crazy busy with the Nursery School auction that was last night but can now focus on our trip. Am packing now and will be until Wednesday night! Thank goodness my mom was here for babysitting and as an added bonus, she was ":laundy: lady" for the past two days. SO GRATEFUL!!

Check in again later...or tomorrow... Johnna

PS - welcome EllenDrew. Our kids are not the same age, but I'm sure we'll get to know each other anyway!

Thanks Johnna! When I read Andrew's post I thought maybe plans had changed and I missed something. We'll be there at the Promenade Lounge and we can't wait to meet everyone!

Norm and Kim- Thank you so much for sending out the updated list.
Only 6 days left!!!!!!!!!!!! :yay:

No it is not my favorite. I love all the places equally. It is just, like my tags says, I am in Vacation Mode and not thinking clearly.

Just a reminder that our room is open for a gathering either before of after the Prominade at 2:30! I'm shopping but haven't packed yet...!!! Leaving Fri. staying at Wilderness Lodge then on to the ship on Sat. Can't wait to meet everyone! :thumbsup2

OPPS...we slipped back down to page two:sad2:

So does everyone at least have there suitcases dusted off??????

I'm sure everyone has been busy trying to check off all the things on the list, that we all have been adding to for the last month or so....I told Ron this morning as he was trying to figure out what is was going to wearing to Church...don't wear anything that you want to take on the trip!!!!! I don't want to add another thing to my list of things to do.... like wash and iron your shirt:laughing: .....I've had my share of laundry this past week:laundy: :laundy: I have everything that the girls are going to wear and take, ready to go and in a suitcase....I have threatend them to not so much as even look at the suitcases:rotfl: :rotfl: no not really.... I'm not quite that mean..they can look at them.... but they better not touch:laughing:

I know everyone is getting so excited..I know we are..it'll be so fun to actually meet everyone...we have such a great group of people, we're bound to have a great time!!!!!

So who all has done the online check in??? I have done all but the flight schedule...that part kicked my butt:confused3 I did it serveral different ways, even had Ron look at it..I'm sure it is simple...just don't know what I'm doing wrong...I will call Disney tommorrow, and fess up to my ignorance:confused:

Thanks Indea for the invitiation, you are so sweet... we will all take a look at your cat 3... and be wanting to move in w/ you...exactly how many of us can you take:lmao::lmao: I want to be first on the list:laughing:

O.K. Happy Monday to all...hope everyone had a good weekend

Brenda:)

We did the online check in last week, to make sure that it is okay. Since we are arriving the day before and flying out the day after, I did not bother with the flight info.

we are organizing our pilesof clothes. We still have to find our garment bag or go out and buy one tomorrow or Tuesday.

See some of you Friday and the rest on Saturday.

Hello, All...

I'm grossly late in checking in here to see who all is going on the March 3 cruise. So glad to see so very many friendly people will be on board!

I'm Beth, from Oregon. Will be cruising with DH, DD8, DS7, DD5, DS0 and DS0 (yes, those last 2 are infant twins - 4 months old - yikes!). The birth of the twins and the ensuing insane last few months are my excuse for my late check-in here. We're also traveling with friends who have a DD11, as well as my parents. I see that there are a lot of girls in the 8-12 range and would love for the kids to have more friends on board. Any younger (3-7) kids on board? I didn't read through all 77 pages of messages to check! :)

We do have 2nd seating for dinner. West coasties - I see there are several of us! - trying to keep the kids on whatever kind of normal schedule we can. The twins should manage to rob us of any normal amount of sleep, though.

If it's not to late to try to hang out with you popular kids, can I get some more info about the meeting Friday night for dinner? We're flying in on Thursday, staying in the Cocoa Beach area on Thurs/Fri nights and have no plans for those days as yet.

Beth

Hi Beth from soggy Seattle,:welcome:
I am glad to be going to the sunshine for a week.

The pre-Cruise meet is at Grills, a restaurant at the Port. Were staying at the Residence Inn. I will PM you to give you our cell phone number. Dinner will be around 7:00 PM, (to give time for ejkjmom and family to get to their hotel and over to the restaurant).

Hi Beth and family and welcome!
We are west coasters with late dining as well. I have a DD4 (5 in July). There are a lot of 3-7 y.o. kids in the group. Send an e-mail to nshabarekh@snet.net (Norm and Kim-the keepers of the list) and they'll send you a spreadsheet with all the cruisers on it.
Alanapapa is organizing the dinner at Grills on Friday night. I'm sure he'll be around here soon. We are staying near the airport Friday but there is a meet once we board, at 2:30 in the Promenade Lounge.
Looking forward to meeting you! Now it's back to packing and I thought I was having a hard time with DH, myself and 2 kids- but 5 kids and 4 month old twins! Wow-I'd be insane too! See you Saturday!

Andrew- you beat me! I guess I need to work on my typing speed!

That is because it gets cold up here in the Seattle area and I type fast to keep my fingers warm.:lmao:

Thank you for the kind welcome and for the dinner details!

We'll be able to make the Friday dinner at Grills. My family of 7 + my 2 parents. Is there anything more I should do by way of reservation other than show up at 7pm?

LOL - yes, packing for all of us is nuts! We actually had to call in the in-laws over the weekend to get everything done. I've been working on it for over a month and am down to the wire with more to do and not enough hands. Then again, "not enough hands" has become my new mode of operation. ;) Five kids was not the original plan! They snuck up on us in pairs... twice! Once through adoption, once via twins. Turns out, we like them all.

We were originally going on a Nov 2006 cruise 'til I turned up pregnant with the new little guys. Rebooked for this cruise, now almost 3 years in the making. Very much looking forward to meeting you all!

Beth

Welcome to Beth and her big Family....My daughter is 6...and we are late seating as well, but we are NYers...our daughter is a night owl if we let her...and I figure on vacation we will let her!

Hi all...I can't believe it is 5 days...and between today being a snowday, an Inclusion conference on Wednesday and a Ed update testing for my students on Friday at school, I only have 2 days left to work in my classroom! I can't believe it...:cheer2:

And it is going to be soooo nice to use sunscreen :beach: instead of a shovel! :thumbsup2

Michelle

Beth...I work in a teach in a town called Newburgh...same as your home town, just spelled differently...and of course a whole bunch of states in between!

Michelle

Hello Everyone-

There will be 6 of us from our group of 13 also going to Grills Friday night. So let me know what we have to do.

Also if you go to the Grills website you can download and print a coupon for 10% off.

As far as packing goes- I am having a hard time I like to have many options and thats hard to do without overpacking! The DD8 and the DD6 are good to go! Except the DD6 left her Gameboy in the sleeve of her winter coat that I washed on Sat silly me I only checked the pockets!! That will teach me or her actually both of us! I hope it works or the plane ride will be a long one!!

Talk to you all soon..

Jodi :cheer2:
