Funny, I just read your countdown clock and we are going to the RPH for 4 nights AFTER the cruise instead of before like you. What a coincidence! We are staying at the Hyatt MCO on Saturday night before the cruise. See ya there!
So we are not alone after all. lol I am taking my reluctant husband, 11 year old daughter and 9 year old son. We will be in cabin 7638. This is our first cruise, and 3 of us at least are very excited. When I booked a year ago, I thought it would be early enough to be ready on time. Now that the clock is so close, I don't know if I can be ready by then. lol Course if I would get off these boards and start getting things together......lol
That is funny about your RPH stay. When we booked our flight a couple weeks ago, we looked into changing our 4 nights to after, but it would have costed us $200 more a person to change the plans.
My DW, DS (7) and I booked our first cruise at this time.
I didn't realize there were more than the one page of posts, so I posted another question about this cruise on the first page. oops... I should have realized someone would be going with it so soon.
How soon did you book your cruise? Also, did you book any excursions?
We are trying to see if we can fly in the night before as well, and I heard the Hyatt was nice, if they still have room.
I booked our cruise a year ago last month. My hubby is in a wheelchair, so I always book things well in advance. And we are not doing any excursions. We got our excursion booklet yesterday, and my kids didn't see anything they wanted to do.
We are flying down the Wednesday before and staying 4 nights at Universal Studios.
The more I am reading these boards, the more excited I am about the trip. My DS got very excited as we were going through all the web sites and pictures/videos of the ship. We were a bit worried he would not be interested in going to the club, but he seemed very excited to be able to "join".
We haven't heard anything yet about being able to fly in the day before. I hope it doesn't cost us a lot, but being spring break, you never know.
I like the ideas I have read also about getting a "day room" at the Hyatt in Orlando when we come back, depending on the time of our return flights.
I agree, the more I learn, the more excited I am. Probably more so than my kids. Although we did look at a couple of sites and read past navigators and I had to sit them down and make sure they understood we would all eat together as a family at meals. At one point they promised that we would not see them til they were ready to go to bed at night. lol We are even doing the countdown on the calendar.
We will be going straight from the port to the airport since we won't have a car. By the time we get there we will probably only have a couple of hours to wait, and my kids want to go in the Sea World shop sonce we aren't going to Sea World this trip.
