Who? Me (37), DH (40), and our 9-almost-10 year old twin DD's.
MONDAY: Sea day. I went to yoga early and dh took the kids to breakfast. After yoga, I used the Rainforest Room and took a shower in the spa (lovely!)before brunch at Palo's. What a wonderful meal! It was kind of a gray, rainy day, so the view wasn't great. But the service was fabulous, we really enjoyed chatting with Elenaore/Ellie (sp?) from Sweden. And the food, oh my gosh! The sweet pizza, the crab legs, eggs benedict, everything. Oh and the stollen. :::::sigh:::::::: Just fantastic. We were absolutely stuffed.
Monday afternoon cleared up nicely. I think we went back to the pool? Oh, now I remember!! We had our Exotic Rasul treatment at the spa. This is a verrrrry fun experience for couples ::::ahem:::: definitely grown up fun! We want to install a Rasul room in our bathroom at home, LOL!
The girls were in the Lab during brunch and our spa treatment, but they had sign out priviliges, and enjoyed being able to come and go as they liked. As long as they were together, and as long as they let us know where they were at all times (either by radio, pager or note), we were fine with that. Mostly they liked to go look in the store, get snacks by the pool, or hang out in the room watching the movies on TV. I think they watched Lemony Snicket 100 times that week!
So then back to the pool after that. We all took showers in the room, and I spent so much time getting the girls' hair done that I almost wasn't ready myself.
Monday night was the Golden MIckey's and formal night in Lumiere's. We just loved getting all dressed up. The show was just a delight. We actually ended up hanging out before the start of the late show so that dd could be interviewed by "Rona Rivers" and get on "tv." It is cute.
We also mingled in the atrium, getting pictures taken with the captain, a formal portrait and with the characters. Watch carefully -- there are waiters circulating with complimentary drinks! I had a yummy Cosmopolitan, and a free drink is always a good drink. The station with the champagne and sparkling wines is NOT free. But the Iron Horse cuvee is well worth the $8.95 charge! I love that stuff!
Lumiere's -- I shared dd's shrimp medley appetizer that was better than what I ordered -- the deep fried camembert fritters. I heard such good things about these, but they just didn't meet my expectations. The batter was too heavy for the cheese flavor. My dinner was the beef tenderloin, which was okay. I think I white chocolate domes for dessert but was too full to eat more than a bite. DH had escargot and duck and liked both. He pretty much liked all the food on the ship!
After that, we tumbled into our beds, exhausted and exhilirated as usual!
