OK, I just realized that a year for today, I will be a Castaway Cay!

I know the 4 night cruise isn't as popular on the Cruise Meet board, but thought I would post just in a case there are others dreaming of their Wonder cruise next March!

We have a LONG count down ahead!

Just thought I would bump this up in case anyone else has added in the past month! It is only 11 months away now!

My girls (twins) will be 12 at the time we cruise. How old our your granddaughters? My girls are hoping to 'meet' some DIS cruisers their age before the cruise so they know someone in the Lab before we board.

The 3 and 4 night cruise threads usually get a little more active as the time gets closer, so I am sure there will be more of us by March.

Glad to see we aren't on the ship all alone! :flower:

P.S. Did you make your reservation at the Radisson already? I hadn't thought about the night before yet, but then I recently read that some people had trouble getting in there closer to their cruise.

Granddaughters will be 3 and 6 at time of cruise.....looks like a wonderful experience for all of us Just made reservations for all of us at the Radisson the night before...Saturday....

The clerks were no accepting reservations this far in advance....so I bypassed them and talked to the Gen mgr. of the hotel who apologized for the silliness and personally took my reservations....

It looks to me like the Radisson is the most hassle free option....right near the port...shuttle service ...free parking during the cruise....free breakfast buffet....gorgeous pool....

You granddaughters will love the Club. Our first criuse, my twins were 6 and it was magical. The Club is very cute. We have been doing the Disney Cruise every year for the past 5 years.

We stayed at the Radisson once and it is nice. They didn't have a free breakfast buffet at that time, so that must have been added sometime in the past 3 years.

We will probably stay at WDW the night before, but we haven't decided yet. If we don't go to Disney, we would stay at the Radisson again. The last time we stayed at the Hyatt at the airport and that was very nice (but they are usually very pricey, we got a room for $30 that night, but I am sure that will never happen again).

Well, again, so nice to 'meet' you. Your family is in for a wonderful adventure!

How do I find out about the excursions available and a description....

any other tip[s or pointers that I should be aware of???

Check the DCL website for excursions:

http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/dcl/en_US/ports/overview?name=PortsOfCallOverviewPage

You can sign up 90 days out (if you are paid in full). They are also allowing you to register kids for the club/lab online now (this is a new and a wonderful addition for DCL).

I would suggest reading over a couple of websites. Go to this one and read through it first:

http://www.dcltribute.com/

Then go the bottom of the sidebar where you will see:

And click on the Platinum Castaway Club link. These are both wonderful sites to gain information.

As for advice. Here is what works best for us:

-Get to port by 10:15 so we go in when they open. Get in line as soon as possible (our kids go for us and DH and I check in, all adults have to check in, but since your Granddaughters are so young you will want to keep them with you).

-Have the girls wear their swimsuits under their clothes. When you are done eating go to deck 9 to the Mickey pool. This will be one of the few times it won't be crowded because most of the kids won't have their swimsuits yet--luggage will be delivered throughout the day and staterooms won't be ready until around 1:30. We actually choose to eat the 'fast food' by the pool and head there first, but most people want the buffet when they board.

--Have everything the girls need to change into when they are done swimming because suitcases may not be at the room yet when they are done.

--Wear something onboard that you would like to have a picture taken in because your whole group will get a picture as you board with the date of the cruise. We always buy this one!

--When you go to those websites I mentioned, look at the Kids Club navigators to see what the girls would really like to do. We sort of planned around our kids schedule that way. There were things they did not want to miss!

--Don't miss any of the Disney shows (there will be one night, probably Monday, that will be a comedy/variety show, which is good, but the Disney themed shows are wonderful! Especially Dreams on the last night).

That is all I can think of for now. The swimsuit under the clothes for the girls is my best tip. We enjoy that time at the pool so much. I have gotten some great pictures of my girls swimming in the empty pool! But once everyone gets their luggage, the pool will fill up!
