Good morning everyone! Sorry Dianne by the time you were posting I was sleeping. :) Good luck on the walking. I've just started exercising again and using my Walk Away The Pounds DVD. Starting slow but hoping I can keep it going! You are my inspiration.

Congrats to Dianne on both the :bride: and pirate:

I am feeling really lonely right about now, Cardinals playing ball on TV, DH sleeping, me chating and no one there to talk too. :confused3

Well past my bedtime Diane.....not to mention my boys have wrapped up the division title already. :rotfl: Congrats on both the:bride: and the pirate:

So, I'm going to pose this question to see what answers I might get.

Why is it that your hard wired smoke alarm batteries ONLY seem to die during the middle of the night? Do they EVER die during the day? Apparently ours is hard wired to only die at night, thus causing a constant, annoying beep, forcing everyone up in the middle of the night to look for new batteries. :confused3

Let this question also serve as a reminder to everyone --- change the batteries in your smokes every year! ;)

What we try to follow and have never had a problem is to change the batteries the two times a year when we change the clocks.

Monika - glad to hear about your trip. I'm sorry DVC didn't live up to their end of the cruise, but the people, that is what makes the cruise. So, I'm happy you had fun with everyone.

And how great is it that you got to switch tablemates for your dining pleasure. Much better company for you both. And it makes for a much more pleasant evening.

And glad you liked parasailing. It is so peaceful and beautiful up there. I so want to do it again some day too.

Thanks for sharing about your trip. Can't wait to see photos! :flower3:

Good Morning to all of my happy Cruisin' Buddies! I'm back!! :)

I'm back to reality and hate it already!! The vacation was fabulous, but it was more about the people - just like our '09 trip - then it was about the SSMC itself. Monica made so many good comments about the trip but I'll try add some things about our cruise too.

We arrived the evening before the cruise and stayed at the Radisson. It was very nice, although the pullout sofa that we had was broken to a point and very uncomfortable. When I explained it to the manager in the morning they were very accommodating in taking a percentage off our room rate, so that was enough to satisfy me. But it was a lovely facility and we would stay there again. We took their shuttle over to the port in the morning and that worked out fine.

We boarded and had a very nice lunch at the Enchanted Garden which is a lovely restaurant. We went up and visited the Senses Spa and bought the Rainforest pass, then headed down to the DISmeet, which I was late for! But it was so fantastic to meet everyone - a feeling I well remember from our cruise! (although I didn't wear my pink tiara) Then it was off to our room and get ready for dinner! I really liked the opening gift - similar yet different from the last few cruises - and was hopefully that the rest would follow suit - wrong in thinking that though.

Anyway, we had early dining and I can't tell you how pleased I was with our servers and all of the food and the restaurants!! We had a fabulous pair for our team, server named Rogue (rocky) and Delarno (who was on hiw first contract). They could not have been nicer - especially with Dustin, and that speaks volumes in my book! I didn't have a single item that I didn't like!! It was just amazing. I loved the new Animator's Palate with Crush! The Royal Palace in wonderful and the Enchanted Garden was very pretty (although I don't think all of the features were working all of the time).

We went to the Golden Mickeys and it was updated from the other cruises and fun to watch. We finally got back to the room, decorated the door and put our our FE! There was already stuff at our door. This group did a great job with the FE's and they were alot of fun!

First day on CC was terrific - lots of sun, with the normal "look out it's a downpour!". But the very best part of the day was parasailing!! YES, I FINALLY MADE IT UP IN THE AIR!!! It had gotten very breezy towards the end of the day and we weren't sure we were going to go out. But finally they said let's go! The BEST part was getting to share this wonderful experience with Lisa and Kyle, Monica and Michael, and my brother Steve and of course the BESTEST kid in the world, Dustin! You guys all made it soooo much fun! I was the first one to go, but because it was so breezy, they said we would all have to go up in pairs. So Dustin went with me - and MAN, it was fantastic! it is so quiet up there! I hope my pictures come out. Then Dustin was excited because he got to go up again with my brother! And yes, sorry Monica, we did tell them to dunk you!!
I can't say I was thrilled with the "Villians" show - it was okay, but not the best I have seen on the Disney Cruises.

Our day at sea was great! We enjoyed relaxing and the cushioned chairs at Quiet Cove were fantastic. The show that evening was "Believe" and it was terrific, I really enjoyed that one. We went to the presentation show only because we thought Joey Fantone (sp?) would be fun to see - another disappointment. It was very weak and a great waste of time.

Another day at CC and we got some late day rain, but all in all another nice day on the beach! The last "show" was an evening with Kermit the Frog. It was okay but not at all what I was expecting for a last big "send off" from DVC.

I truly enjoyed the evening up on deck when they presented the preview of "Prep and Landing" new for this holiday season. They had the deck decorated and talked with the directors and then of course, only Disney could make it snow at sea, and serve gingerbread cookies and I missed the hot chocolate. But that was really fun.

The pirate night was okay, but the fireworks were amazing and so much fun to watch.

All in all, we had a great time because of the people. Again, and as we have all said before, we were disappointed with the level of entertainment especially. I love Ducky Williams, but really, how many times can you go see him and not feel like "been here done this". The opening gift was cute, but then it went downhill from there. The most insulting "gift" was a leather-like passport cover with big letters "RCI" on the front. It was more of an advertisement than a gift. There was a cute Prep and Landing pin, a small book about Kermit the Frog, a pin that was supposed to be like the coin that was set in the hull of the Dream, and then the set of 2 wine glasses with glass charms. The glasses were okay, but definitely not what I expected. I guess we all went into it thinking that this would be a big year because of the new ship and the 20th anniversary, but it was a great letdown. Oh and sorry Chris, but no calendar either. And a big disappointment- no group photo!! It really lacked the little touches, and seemed like there were so many missed opportunities to make it nice! This will probably be my last member cruise, for a while.

And now my new problem - the soon-to-be-ex has placed my March cruise on the property list of things to be split up and has now said that HE wants this cruise!! This is going to be ugly - and poor Dustin will be the on in the middle. I really hate that I had to come home to reality and this! We'll see how this works out. I really really want to be with all of you!! And so does Dustin now! He really wants to come with me!

I've got the perfect place scoped out for the Sunrise Coffee Club (which was fun with the guys from SSMC11 and I see you have already hear from Ian).

Have to run to take Mom to doctor and such - will hop back on later!! love you all!!

Hi Sue!

Oh Sue I'm so sorry this is happening. Be careful what you share in a public forum as he could be reading it and use it against you. Still this cruise is for you and Dustin and I hope you can get it worked out.

Sue - great trip report. Sorry that the member cruise didn't live up to the standards that they have set in the past. But it sounds like it was unforgettable with the parasailing and such! You had such great sailing companions.

In fact, it's the people anymore that make the cruise extra special! That is one big draw for us. I think one of our all time favoritist cruises is when we sailed with you guys. And we can't wait to do it again!

And, sorry you had to come home to such awful circumstances. Hopefully it will all work out for you, and you and Dustin will be cruising with us in March, because we ALL want to cruise with YOU!

Take care Sue. And be sure to check in more often so we know how you are doing. :grouphug:

Oh, and too bad about them not giving out calendars this year. That was my most favorite gift last year.

But thanks for thinking of me and all.

Good Morning everyone! Thanks for the support! Yes, I know that I need to express myself in general terms and I truly thank you all for your concerns and thoughts. I will hop on the FB page instead. But I will still post here about happy thoughts!!

Looks like another rainy day here! Still have to unpack from vacation! Have lots to do around the house to catch up on things. Saw my mom yesterday and she was VERY happy to have me home.

YIPPEE! :yay:

Thanks for the update Mary! It makes me even more excited about our great reunion plans!!

I think we should do Tshirts! Anyone interested? I have a girl here who would do them really cheap and she does great work. Would probably only be about $6 per shirt (or so, I have to check) or a little more if we want full color.
