Happy Hump Day Gang!

To all our East Coast Cruisers, STAY SAFE & WARM! You are just getting dumped on with the snow this year. Just heard 17" in some places. Wow! So, be safe!

Have a great day. :flower3:

Good Morning Chris!! Yes this is the third time in six days that we have gotten snow!! It's really amazing! Last night's snow has been enough and with the timing of it that it closed almost every school in this area! Now John is out with the snow blower rescuing the neighborhood and Dustin is still asleep - for a while longer! He has been invited to go sledding later. John will have to go plow out the GS Council offices for tomorrow, and I have to open the thrift shop at noon. So until then, I will enjoy my snowy morning with another cup of coffee!!!! :surfweb:

Hey Dave - can you see above the snow drifts!! I know you were under a blizzard warning! :scared1: Hope all is well!

Well, be careful when going out and about later. And did your pregnant neighbor ever have her baby? With all this snow you guys have been getting I was just wondering if she made it to the hospital to have it.

And hope Dave and family are safe as well. Maybe his business has really picked up because of all the bad roads so he is keeping busy at work. But I bet they are really dreaming about the Dream since their February cruise is fast approaching. :cheer2: For them!

Oh do I wish we were doing the Dream with Dave and family in February!! :worship:

YES, my neighbor had the baby last Tuesday! It's a Boy - and named after proud poppa and grandpa, his name is Walter (the third)!! Everyone is doing just fine, however Walt told me yesterday that the baby is up and wanting to be fed every hour and a half! Which is of course keeping them up for lots of the evening!! OOOPPPS! I hate when that happens - luckily, never to me, mine slept right thru almost as soon as they came home from the hospital! :rotfl:

Hello All!

I have not been on here since before Christmas...I think.

I will have to catch up on all the posts but in the meantime I just wanted to send a quick

Hello!!

Happy New Year!!

Counting down the days until our cruise. I know I have the SSMC11 before ours but I am really excited to see you all and have a kid free vacation.

Mary - I will have to send you the details because the DS and DD will not be cruising on this one. My DBFF from college is going. Woo Hoo!

Fyi..I should be getting my new car within about a week. Yeah!!!

Take care and stay safe in all this snow!

Good Morning Fellow Cruisers!!
Hey Dave - can you see above the snow drifts!! I know you were under a blizzard warning! :scared1: Hope all is well!

:rotfl2:We have finally dug out!! I love the snow though!:confused3

The shop is super busy right now, and YES we are absolutely getting excited about the cruise!

Oh do I wish we were doing the Dream with Dave and family in February!! :worship:

Sue, how we wish this group was going with us!! I will be very busy during the cruise though, no time to fraternize. I have to scout out the Ship for the proper meeting places.

Lisa-Happy New Year!! How did the kids take their surprise cruise? They must be very excited as well. What type of car are you getting? I bet it will be nice to be mobile again!

Good morning fellow cruisers

We sail in 62 weeks!

Glad you got dug out Dave. That is a lot of snow! But you snowmobile don't you? I think I remember you saying that, so you would really like all this snow. Have fun in it.

Great news about the car Lisa. And glad to hear from you.

The countdown is looking a little better Mary. One more week closer. :thumbsup2

Have a great day. :flower3:

Dave you are just too good to the rest of us. To think you're going to give up almost your whole vacation to find:

  • The perfect place for the sunrise club
  • Which bars would be best for a before dinner drink
  • Which menu items are best for each resturant
  • How CC will handle the extra people
  • What new in each of the rooms
The list goes on and on. You are so giving to do this for all of us. :worship:

Ok we all know the truth - you'll have a blast but we do appreciate all the feedback you'll supply when you get back. ;)

Mary-I hope you don't mind, but I took the liberty of numbering your "short list" of tasks. Now to address the list...

1) I will definitely find the correct spot to enjoy the rising sun and a beverage with a few of my favorite cruise friends!

2) Which bars to have the perfect before dinner cocktail will be a very time consuming (and beverage consuming) task. I know I only have 4 days to "plot the map" but I feel with due diligence the task can be completed before 1am each night!

3)The best restaurant items will be an expansive task (mostly to my waist), but I must admit I am not the one for this. I will ask my wife and DD15 to take this challenge on for "all of us". My tastes lie with meat and potatoes and the ocasional fish. I know I will come away with the best fast food stops on the ship!

4)How CC will handle the people is yet to be seen. I do know, thanks to Mary (on her unfortunate couple massage cancellation last Members Cruise, but her awesome recovery) Tanya and I have scheduled another massage. Hopefully the overflow of people doesn't happen in the massage cabana....

5) The "new in the room" request is very exciting to me, I have seen so many pictures of the rooms, but still can't wait to see them in person. I saw somewhere in a photo of the new phone system that you can take with you on the ship and make calls to other rooms???? I am not sure how they can do this but... It is Disney!

I know this is only a small sampling of questions to be pondered, but I will faithfully serve my fellow cruisemates...Reporting for Duty!!

Good Morning to all of my Friends!!

HI LISA!!! Glad to hear from you - how do you like all of our Jersey snow??? :lmao:

Thanks for the countdown Mary! I can't wait for it to get under the year mark!

Ah Dave - you are such a good trooper! Doing all of that hard work just for little ol' us! What a guy! Oh the nobility of it all!! :worship:

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

3 - well I'm looking forward to your thoughts because as Mark will atest I'm the original meat and potatoes girl. :lmao:

4- Awesome something to think about for the reunion cruise is one of the spa villas. We loved it on our July cruise last year!

5 - I'm thinking the phone system could come in real handy to those of us in the sunrise club who have spouses that like to sleep in. Take the phone with up on deck and when they are up and ready for breakfast can call. No need to head back to the cabin just to see if someone is up.

I know you are up to the task Dave and will do an awesome job finding things we never even knew we wanted to know.

Hey all. Just thought I would say "Hey".

Right now life is just crazy.

Just wish I was on a cruise with you all and relaxing right now. But, that won't happen for a while yet. So, at least I have March to look forward to and being at WDW! I'm still so excited that the girls will be performing there. Don't know really for sure where or when, but at least we know the days they are to perform. They told me tonight that they know they will be marching at MK and they think they will be singing at EPCOT. So we just have to wait until they find out for sure.

Oh, I'm also excited because we have booked the Keys to the Kingdom Tour at MK for one morning. We have never done this before. Have any of you? I can't wait to see the underground part. How cool is that. I know a guy from last year's members cruise, Ian - Sue you may recognize his name cuz he is going on next year's cruise too - and he said he has done it 3 different times and each time it is different. So we are very excited about doing it.

We have had one dissapointment for our March trip. :sad2: And that is when the 180 mark came we made a dining reservation at Raglan Road for March 17th. Well, they called last week to cancel it, saying that they never take reservations on March 17th and that a mistake was made and they were very sorry could they help make other arrangements for us. That they were only taking walk ups for dining or you could pay a $10 cover charge for the bar and enjoy the dancers, band and party. Well, that did upset me because we are traveling down to WDW on the 17th. So we thought we had a reservation to enjoy the holiday there. But I guess not. So, we had to find a new place to try and make a reservation. So we decided we would try Wolf Gang Puck Cafe. We have done WPE and have really enjoyed it so we thought what the heck, lets give it a try. Has anyone else dined there? Would love to hear your opinion if you have. :flower3:

TTFN!

My DH and I are doing the Keys to the Kingdom tour February 10th!! that is how we will be spending our 5 year anniversary!! That, and eating at Fulton's so my DH can eat king crab claws! ha! I'm soooo excited- just a few weeks left! then we go on the Dream the 13th!

Happy Eve of Gary's Favorite Day!!

I stayed up last night and got caught up on all the posts. I actually did it from most current back to when I last posted. It appears I dropped off at the time I was on the hunt for the Barbie Video Girl. It all worked out though. I never found one and she has never mentioned it. Thank goodness. As much as she talked about it before Christmas. :worship: Between Christmas and her birthday the week before, I think she has more than enough to keep her busy.

Based on all your postings, it sounds like everyone had a very nice Christmas with their families and a safe and happy New Year.

I see we have some new cruisers to the group since the holiday.
:welcome:Welcome Aboard Everyone!!!!! :welcome:

Mary - I am very happy to read the reports on your continued good health. :thumbsup2

Dave - Glad to hear you are enjoying the snow and that business is going well. If only you had opened up a 2nd shop somewhere down south. Boy do they have a lot of repairs. Some of the clips I saw looked like they were bumper cars...or were those bumper 18 wheelers. I guess both!!

I also enjoyed reading the most recent postings about all your duties on the upcoming trip in February. You have a lot of ground to cover. You might want to start warming up now for your marathon tour. :yay:

Chris - I too am not far from Philly so I would enjoy meeting up with you also. Keep me in the loop once you get your itinerary.

Sue - So happy to hear that all is well with your family and that your son had a safe trip back oversees.

Could you please PM me your sons contact information. I did not have a chance to get it from you previously and then you mentioned he was coming home for the holiday so I figured I would wait until now. I am coordinating an event with DS's Daisy Troop for a care package to send over along with some cute notes and cards from our group of 5-7 year old girls. Should be fun!!

The GS cookie sale starts next week. Yummy!!!! Please let me know if he has any favorites. I do not know the proper terminology so I apologize if I get this wrong but.... About how many people are in his division, group ???

Please also provide some ideas of other things they need or want....other than GS cookies. I spoke with the leader of the Daisy Troop tonight when we were at dance class and told her my idea. She was really excited and definitely wants to do it. So, that is my new project!! Please send me the details as soon as possible. Remember to include a list of other things...you know other than all his favorite GS cookie flavors..... to give us some other ideas.

Flo - I was wondering if you were able to book this cruise. I think the last I remember you had to wait to see about an upgrade for the vacation you were taking this past December. Not sure if my memory is very good these days. Is it confirmed yet? Are you joining us? I hope so!!!!

A few of you may have seen my post on the FB group page this morning. I used the snow blower for the first time yesterday. I actually had a pretty good time figuring out how to use it. I had no manual or instructions. I just filled it up with gas; looked over all the buttons, switches, etc; gave it a try and got it started on the 2nd try. :thumbsup2

I will admit though that I did this in my garage with the door shut. Just in case something went wrong. You never know who may be watching and laughing at you. :confused3 I am not 100% sure but I think sometimes there may be a video recorder on somewhere in the neighborhood. Just waiting for that perfect clip that will get them on Funniest Home Videos.

I pretty much will try to do or fix just about anything around the house. Well, almost anything. I figure if I fix it then I saved myself some money and hopefully I learned something. If I do it wrong, then I call someone else to fix it and hopefully my attempt does not end up costing me more money and again....hopefully I learned something. :lmao:

So, you see my neighbors see me doing all sorts of stuff - like clearing out the attic, tearing out the shelving in my closets, taking down sections of the wooden 8' fence in my yard (yes by myself), cutting down a tree with some help from DS -he just wanted to use the saw, and the list goes on. The best may have been last winter when I was up on the ladder trying to remove the ice out of the gutters. The entire gutter along the back of the house was just one HUGE piece of ice. It was even hanging over the side and starting to back up onto the roof. And, with all the snow on the roof the water had no where to go as it started to melt. It was a big mess. Well, at one point I turned and saw my neighbor and her mother in law watching me from inside their house. This was there expression. :scared: I think maybe they were taking bets on how long it would take until I fell off the ladder. :lmao:

Oh, back to yesterday activities. Oops! So, after doing our house, the sidewalk from our house down and around the corner to the bus stop, and 4 of my neighbors houses, I am achey today. Felt fine yesterday but today I am moving just a little slower. :headache: It was good exercise.

But, the kids enjoyed my efforts. As a thank you for doing her driveway, the lady across the street brought over a treat right before the kids went to bed. She called it Shoefly Cake. The kids really loved it. They couldn't wait to have more tonight for a snack.

Oh, I almost forgot. I am getting a GMC Acadia. For those that may not be familiar with the Acadia, it is referred to as a crossover vehicle. It's like having an SUV that drives more like a car (or minivan) than an SUV. Seating capacity is 7-8 but the one I am getting is for 7. I took the kids to try out the 2nd and 3rd rows and decide on whether they wanted a bench or chairs for the 2nd row. Fortunately, they both picked the chairs. That was my choice but I wanted them to be part of the decision making. They have to sit back there...not me. The kids had fun and haven't stopped talking about all the things we are going to do once we get it. We can now get a kayak, go camping and actually have a place to sit once all the camp gear is in the car (not a fun experience going to Webelos Resident Camp in a Camry), get a bike rack :woohoo:, road trips to Skyline Drive, Niagara Falls, Lake George, and the list goes on.

Well, as you see I wrote another Novel. Sorry. :confused3

If this cruise would just get here sooner, then we could all be chatting at the Sunrise Club or on the beach at Castaway Cay. Can't wait!!!

I will end it now before the Eve of Gary's Favorite Day turns into Gary's Favorite Day!!!!!!

Kids get out of school early tomorrow and we all have off for MLK on Monday. Weekend with their dad so I do not have to be the cook, waitress, maid, chaffeur, or mediator this weekend. Well, at least not until they return Sunday night. By then I will really be missing them and ready for them to come home. It all works out.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!!!!

Carrie - you will have to let me know how it is. I believe we are doing that on March 20th :confused3. I'm not home so I can't look for sure but it is first thing in the morning and then when that is done we are going to eat lunch at Tony's. So two firsts for us. We are very excited about them both! So, I would love to hear how your tour goes.

And :yay: for going on the Dream on the 13th. That is before Dave I think. Guess you will have to scope some things out for him. :rotfl:

And I do have to say I am jealous of you both. We won't be getting on the Dream until we are with all of you guys next year. Bummer, I know, but that is the soonest we can do a cruise on the Dream. We are going on the Magic in December 2011 - A Christmas Cruise. :thumbsup2

Good morning all! I've come down with a case of the crud. Nothing serious just all stuffed up and achy. Came home from work early and straight to bed which helped a bit. Hopefully I can last the full day at work and then shake it this weekend.

Chris we've eaten at Tony's before and like it a lot. Ducky Williams did all the art work there. Don't you just live trying at least one new thing on each trip? We do! :thumbsup2

Lisa - I swear, you are one of the busiest people I know. OMG, how do you do it all. It wears me out just reading your posts. ;) But I do love reading them so don't stop.

Did you ever get the ice out of the gutter then? :rotfl2:

Have a nice relaxing weekend since the kids will be gone until Sunday. :flower3:

Oh, yes we do love trying new things Mary. And I can't wait to see Ducky's art work at Tony's. We tried to get in once after a cruise to see the place but it was closed for a private party and they said we couldn't go in. And I am going to win one of Ducky's drawings one of these times we are on a cruise with him. I just gotta. I would especially love the Snow White he does.

And sorry to hear you are not feeling well. Hope you get to feeling better soon. :wizard:
