March 2018 help

I am thinking about a trip for March 2018 we are typically Nov/Dec people and one trip in Sept. This will be our first spring trip any tips on what weeks to avoid when is a good time. When does the flower & garden festival start? What is a must see or must miss. I was honestly thinking about the week leading up to St. Patrick's Day is that a crazy time to go? Thanks in advance.

Flower and Garden starts March 1st.

IME, if Easter falls early the crowds start picking up earlier. I was there the first full week of March this year and the only day we saw heavier crowds was our last full day there. Easter is on 4/1 in 2018 so that week may be more crowded than it was this year, but it shouldn't be unbearable.

If you decide on that week, just go with the expectation that you may or may not be able to see everything you want, so you'll just have to prioritize what is most important.

Spring break picks up mid march. I would go earlier in March.
