March 2012: Spring Break, Here we come! Threadjackers take over the world!

What a small world Lidian and D, all three of us are doing Tusker House. I guess great minds think alike.

I am doing one OOP mean (I found an early breakfast for CP and had to snag it) so I looked at all my meals to see which would be the cheapest. So I am paying for Rose & Crowns OOP.

We have two OOP meals we'll be dishing out for. So I seriously need to sit down and calculate which ones. I have it marked which ones based on data I found when I made my list, but I need to verify prices again before we go, since they have changed at some places according to allears.

Breakfast food is one of my favorite meals, but it's DH's least favorite ... so while I'd be okay with lots of breakfast meals, DH doesn't like breakfast fare, or eating so early in the AM. So we have a few CS ones to use up credits and only one meal. I'm so glad he loves me.

Got some great news today. I may be going to Disney in April....WHOOOHOOO! I CANNOT believe it. Hubs has a work trip planned to Orlando in April and I might meet up with him for a long weekend. Super excited!!! Now off to read!

Ok I give up. DIS is just SO SSSLLLOOWWW today! so no pictures and I will have to try to remember what I was thinking. HA!

I am sorry to hear about the migraines - that is just awful. I know how well eye related issues can affect your head. I hope that you get some relief!

I have not heard about Donald roaming through TH - I've never been there but I though there was just poses outside. Hope he does wander!

We also had success seeing Donald at DHS -- actually, Donald and Daisy were Katie's first ever Disney Characters met, to the joy of her grandparents, who are both Donald fans.

Food at 1900 Park Faire is okay. I dug in big on the salads (I love fresh salad). Neither DH or I recall it was anything to write home about. DH and DD loved the dessert tables, and the big sundae they bring after your meal was yummy. Its really really about the step sisters. they are a riot! In my book they outshone Cinderella and Prince Charming. If you see Driszella dancing, let DD go join her -- we saw a little dance thing going on when we were there but it was in th eother room, too far for katie to join. but it looked like a blast!
I don't remember what the photos cost, probably around $20. I do remember that they were decent pictures.

I am really looking forward to your review of Tusker House. It was one of the meals I REALLY wanted to try on our June trip...but then we had to change our schedule and I just couldn't fit it in and had to drop it. I was okay with that, but hopefully maybe it's one we can do on our November trip back!

Or maybe just maybe that possible June trip!

I wish I could recall the food at 1900 PF but I do remember thinking it did not seem like there was as much of a variety there as I would have liked. The characters were fun though!

FYI...one little known fact. You don't have to choose which meal you want to pay OOP right now. When you get there...if you find that one meal would have been cheaper than you thought...you can change the info at the front desk at your resort.

For instance, we were going to pay for our first meal there on the DPP and our Sci Fi meal out of pocket...but after we paid for the meal, we changed our mind and cancelled Sci Fi...so I went to the front desk and they credited our account with the amount we paid and deducted the meal credits instead. I was a nervous wreck on our last day ...but it was all correct!

What does the "Quick Reply" do? I've never used it ... I always just use Reply, with or without quoting.

I'm certain Donald doesn't roam, he's only outside for pictures. I do know the other characters roam. I was told the picture was about $30, and I don't recall what all it included ... maybe a 5x7 and some wallets. I dunno. But I'll give Uncle Walt my money because I love pictures.

I know Donald can be found at all the parks ... but we're not ones to wait in line long to see a character. We just refuse. We'd rather see attractions. If there's little to no line, we'll hop in, even if we've seen the character before. It's rare for us to snag a character as soon as they appear. We've been lucky only once ... and that was 2009 with the FGM. We were taking pictures at Cinderella's fountain when she came out and we were first to meet her!

I'll be sure to send the kids out if any dancing happens! Not that I'd probably have to ask them, they'd probably be on the edge of their seats ready to pounce.

Honestly, I'm not too worried about most of the food. As long as it's edible, I'm okay with it. We're going on FD, so it's not like I'll feel like I've lost money on poor food ... I mostly booked places for the experience this year. There's a few places that I expect good food, but most of them, not so much.

Nini, thanks for the super tip! I'll still try to determine which ones are our best options, because anytime we don't have to stand at a desk to deal with something is time spent in the parks or swimming or just chilling out.

However, it's super great to know if we make a mistake, or the server charges to the DDP instead of room. Or something happens and prices vary significantly from what I planned. You're so sweet to let me know!

Well, this is my third time typing this....oh how I have missed the DIS I have definitely missed you and Corrine for sure!

Wow!!! You have been a very busy, gal! Already 56 pages....IMPRESSIVE! I so enjoyed your PTR. Let me know how Adventure Island is. We are playing with the idea of going to Universal, too.

Too bad we aren't going at the same time. Our Hubs would have soooo much to talk about. I am definitely married to a geek or nerd or what ever you call him.... The only way that they are different is, though, is that Mike LOVES WDW. Maybe even more than I do. Our kids are the same exact age....we would have SO much fun if we would ever go at the same time!!!!

I am happy to be back, but am going to be crazy busy until mid March. I got roped in to doing the cookies for our GS troop again this year and we have over 1500 boxes ordered. I have to pick them up Feb. 29th. We have twice as many as last year. We have 3 new girls in our troop. Is J still doing GS?

Well, I officially broke K's heart today. She overheard me talking with my sis about Mike's business trip and thinking about flying down and she put 2 and 2 together and remember her dad talking about going to Orlando on business. Well she absolutely flipped her lid and started crying hysterically. We told her we were planning a trip to DL next year and the beach this year and that her dad and I needed a little time away.....in DISNEY!!! I am EVIL! I kind of know what she is going through....first I find out you are going and I shed some tears and then when I found out Corinne was going I had a total break down.... But now that I might be going. I am feeling much much better.
I definitely do need to finish my TR, though, I will probably not start a PTR. So I may occasion send you a message with my plans so you can give me some input.

The first one is "quote" - so you can quote that individual post, the second one is multiquote, so you can quote multiple people in one post, and the third one is quick reply, if you activate that one, it will allow you to type in the little empty box at the very bottom of the page and then hit "post quick reply" when you are done. Saves the time of loading an extra page when you just have something little to say (which rarely happns to you... ) But it might prove itself useful at some point.

I've had to pull DD out of her troop. They worked my last nerve. I filed a complaint with the council and they promised to place her in a new troop ... that was in December. I've contacted them several times, and they "can't find any more local troops". If that's the case, they need to find some decent moms to lead the only one we have. I love these ladies to death, but they are HORRIBLE troop leaders. Seriously, by December, they had met twice. Yep. Twice. And they only did one event -- Fantasy of Trees. They've yet to do anything to earn a Try-It! Ugh! Okay, I can go on forever about this ... so hopefully you get the picture.

If you have your email address on file with your reservation, you will NOT be receiving a check out statement on your door. Instead, you will receive it in an email. This has been going on for a few months. I don't really like it. I'd rather hold it in my hand, then view it on my phone.

I remember the trip we took to WDW in May. I was so proud of myself that we got up, my DS did his treatment, and we were out the door in very good time. We were a couple blocks away when we relized that DS forgot his baseball hat, so we went back for it. We were half way to the airport when he relized he forgot his build-a-bear dog. At this point I told him he would have to do with out thim for a couple nights.

Thanks for reminding me to add Buddy to my packing list!!!!!!!! It would be a MISERABLE vacation without Buddy.

Buddy is the yellow/orange cat. Elefunny will probably come, too, but it won't be disasterous if Elefunny doesn't make it to the car. Snakey is put away (since DS is afraid of him now ) and the frog and bear are DD's. She'll bring the bear, but I think the frog is MIA.

How did he do without his BAB Dog?

He did alright, but refused to go to sleep unless I was right next to him. But he is such a bed hog that I ended up sneaking over to the other bed a coupld hours later when I knew he was asleep.

That's exactly what happened to us until we got smart phones. When we stayed at CSR and POFQ this fall, we didn't have email access at WDW. I was shocked the first time I heard the recording on the in-room answering machine. It said that our statement would be emailed to us. I couldn't check it til we got home. This last time at POP in Feb, I got the email on my phone, but it wasn't until after we had checked out.
