March 2012: Spring Break, Here we come! Threadjackers take over the world!

I just wanted to congratulate you on your new phone. Can't wait to see some pictures.:thumbsup2

I am super down because I can't find an Evil Queen case for my 4S! Amazon says it isn't availble for release until March. :guilty: And it doesn't come with the screen protector. I am so not happy being case-less and protector-less. I'm terrified I'm going to break it. :scared1: I went to both Walmarts, Target, and Kmart looking for a case I'd be content with. Nada. I'm too dadgum picky. :sad2:

ON A SIDE NOTE:
Today is my DD's 10th birthday! Tonight, we'll go out for dinner (her choice, she's asked for Wasabi's, a hibachi place). Saturday, we'll have her party -- which is just our close family coming over for snacks and cupcakes! The cupcakes have been ordered (it's a cupcake cake). She requested a Minnie (and/or Mickey) theme, so I need to hit the Party store and find some decorations! I'll do a big post early next week to show off pics with my new camera, my new phone, and all the events that have happened recently. :goodvibes

Oh... I bought DH a case for his iPhone 4. Out of the ones I showed him, he picked .... KERMIT! :woohoo: It's adorable. Pictures to come early next week. :thumbsup2

Is there a diffrence between the 4 and 4s? I know that my Walmart had an evil queen case for the phone. I'ld be willing to pick one up if you want. Have you tried walmart on line? How cute that you DH got a kermit case. :thumbsup2

I've seen Don-- oh, right. You linked one. :lmao:

Well, I highly recommend the iPhones. And I was in our provider's store today, the 3GS is only $0.99 with a 2 year contract. :rolleyes1

Disney has awesome cases! Walmart had a ton of them back when the 4s first hit the market, and again when 4S hit. I'm hoping to hit Walmart tomorrow. :rolleyes1

Sorry that you can't find a nice Android one. :guilty: Is there any knock-offs that are Disney that would fit? I know there's a website that sells knock-off cases, and they have a TON of "Disney" ones. I can't recall what brands they sold knock-offs for.

I know what you mean about being caseless and worrying about a break. These phones are so big they barely fit in a pocket.

I ended up getting a sequence Mickey Mouse zipper case. I have a Galaxy S II phone.

Looking forward to seeing pics with the phone. I'm amazed how clear my pictures on my phone are. Better than with my point and shoot camera!

Happy B-day to my favorite little mermaid! Do they still do that? I haven't seen any mermaids in a long time.

I've searched everywhere - locally and online. No one sells the case with the matching screen protector. The closest thing I found was Amazon for a pre-order early March, but it doesn't include the screen protector. :guilty:

HOWEVER, thanks so much for picking it up at YOUR Walmart for me!!! I can't wait to get it!!!!:banana::banana: You are the Awesome and this is another reason I love the DIS! Such amazing friendships!!!!!! :disrocks:

Tink, your case sounds adorable!

I was pretty impressed with the pics my phone took. However, the flash is TOO bright. It's literally blinding. DH went to take a picture, and just out of the corner of my eye, it was too much (and he was taking a picture of the cat in the hallway!!). I have since turned my flash off. I think this one has an 8.something MP camera. And DH's is slightly less, like a 6.something.

Thanks for the birthday wishes! I just read that the Mermaid (and some updated looks, as well as Jake) are coming in March. No date has been released yet, so probably mid-late March. :sad2:

I just found this on the Amazon website.

http://www.amazon.com/Disney-IP-131.../ref=sr_1_150?ie=UTF8&qid=1329433388&sr=8-150

I will still double check at Walmart for you.

Oh and I forgot to tell you that I bought Fairest of All for my Kindle.

Thanks again for getting the one I wanted at Walmart! I really wanted the combo pack, because the screen protector is adorable!

Let me know if you enjoy Fairest of All! Just don't spoil it for me. :lmao:

I love the pictures my 4S takes. It is one of the reasons I bought it.

I just can't participate in this Iphone discussion, it's too painful for me...

D~ ;)

I agree! The 3GS pics weren't horrible, but WOW, the 4S pics are just amazing! I took food pics last night with my phone, I'm anxious to see how they turn out on my computer!

Well, D, it's only $0.99 to get a 3GS at AT&T. :rolleyes1 I'll even send you the cash plus tax. :lmao:

:thumbsup2 Congrats on the new phone! LOVE new technology toys! :cool1: :cool1:

Can't wait to see the birthday photos too. Sounds like fun! :)

Did you take photos with the new camera too? I was SO excited I won a Canon 300 HS on Ebay earlier this week...for $92 and I couldn't wait to get it! Then the seller emailed me to let me know he was selling it for a friend and his friend was mad that he didn't get more for it...so he was cancelling the sale! He felt really bad (at least via email) and this was actually his first time selling something...he had bought a few things and had some feedback from that. I wasn't going to push the issue...he sent me a refund so it's all good. Now I've decided to just wait it out...and with the refund I went ahead and bought something else...roof rails for my DH's new Pilot. They were a little more than $92 but a whole lot LESS than the dealership on Amazon! So he'll be excited about that...besides I'm pretty sure that vehicle will end up being mine in a year or two when he tires of it and is ready for his next vehicle! :rotfl:

I will just hold off and enjoy my Canon SD1200 for a while (since I bought it used on Ebay) and maybe next year I'll get the 300 HS when the new models come out! ;)

I took food pics with my phone (to make it less obvious because of odd looks when I started to take pictures with my camera), and the rest of the pictures with the camera (no flash). I'm anxious to see how they all came out.

Honestly, if it was me on eBay ... I would have reported that user. I'm almost certain it's against the ToS to list a product and then backout without a valid reason (ie the product is no longer in condition it was stated in). Cancelling the auction just because a friend wanted it ... tough luck. You're a better person than me, because I would have reported that AND left negative feedback with a Buyer Beware. This is why I hate using sites like this ... most people don't do the right thing. And how much more did he expect to get? I paid $150 for a NEW one. :sad2: Sorry, people like that just grate my last nerve.

I'm glad you found a better use for the cash instead though!! :goodvibes I'm glad your updating your future vehicle. :lmao:

I'm hoping to do a REALLY big update early next week -- to cover lots of stuff. This weekend we have DD's party and I have several tests to cram for. I did pick up more travel stuff today and hoping to start packing next week after I can get out from under the homework and tests!! :thumbsup2

I'm taking a break from cleaning and studying, so going to toss out some quick updates.

When I asked DS where he wanted to eat, he said he didn't care, as long as it had Donald Duck.

tuskerhouse2.jpg

Thank you for the picture Disney!

Around that time, Disney announced that TH would offer characters for lunch! So I thought I would book Tusker House just for DS.

tuskerhouse1.jpg

Thanks for the picture Disney!

After I booked it, I began to worry about the menu. I'm not a picky eater, but I'm not very adventurous, either. I showed DH the tentative menu listed on allears and he got very excited for it. When I began to waffle on eating here, DH put his foot down and insisted we keep the ADR.

Several people have been supportive and shared their experiences, so I'm feeling good about keeping the ADR. I'm actually kind of excited.

I'm excited to meet Daisy! We've never seen Daisy before! (Well, we've seen her with massive lines ...) I will definitely buy the picture out front with Donald, since this is DS's special request meal. He is such a Donald fan!

We have a lunch for 11:15 on March 5th scheduled. We'll be paying OOP for this meal. I'm still worried about the food, but it will be nice to enjoy a buffet and try new things.

I've wanted to dine at 1900 Park Fare for a couple of years. I've booked this ADR several different times (for various days) in the planning of this March trip ... and now I'm thankful that when I started to cancel ADRs, I didn't cancel the 1900 PF for the 5th.

After our day at Animal Kingdom, we'll head over to the GF for a nice dinner with Cinderella and family. I'm super excited to meet Lady Tremaine and the Step-sisters! I've heard that the food is okay, but dining here is all about the characters. I've never met LT or the Sisters ... well, not really. LT did comment to my DD during a parade, told her she needed a napkin (she was enjoying a Mickey Bar) ... so I'm super excited to get to interact with her.

I have a few comments I plan to make over dinner and anxious to see the reactions!

1900pf.jpg

Thanks for the picture Disney!

I don't even know what typical foods are served here ... and I don't really care. I'm excited for the characters.

Again, we'll buy the picture package. Is it worth it? Eh. However, DD has asked to dine with Princesses, and Cindy is a Princess! :thumbsup2 Plus, I love collecting pictures.

Dinner will be late, 6:55pm for us. This is almost two hours later than what I'm used to eating. :headache: We'll definitely have to grab a snack between our early lunch and our late dinner.

This is one place we didn't do, and I wish we would have... I've kind of been watching for an ADR to pop up - but not too earnestly - because I don't want to have to do one of our meals OOP. I have heard great things about this meal - and I have also heard that the character interaction is so unique and fun - I would totally do this meal for the characters, as well. I am very excited to hear how your meal goes and what you plan to say to the characters. :rolleyes1

I'm a bit disappointed that Donald doesn't circulate as well ... which means that I'll ... Oh, well I guess not. I was worried about a signature, but we'll see him at CM's, so that will take care of the signature! But still, the characters who just stand there and pose don't usually interact much (in our experience). And we're all about the interactions!

If you found one, you can always do your TH breakfast meal OOP. It might be your cheapest TS meal (but I can't recall what other ADRs you have either).

When I read reviews, everyone was stating food was just "okay", but characters were amazing and they'd return JUST for the characters. Which, that's the main reason I'm going anyway. :lmao:

We are probably the minority here...I did not care for 1900 Park Fare. In fact it was the worst meal we ever had at Disney. The steps had a great interaction, but Cinderella was aloof and uncaring and practically ignored all the little girls dressed like her. The Prince...was scared out of his mind! His smile was 'painted' on and you could almost see him shaking. (we guessed he was new). It is the first place that was vetoed this trip!

We had one of our best character interactions back in January 2010 when I took the kids by myself to WDW.

We were at DHS for rope drop and we saw Donald had no line. We actually spent about 5 minutes just with him.
Image0896.jpg

He then led us over to Daisy who had just come out, we had never seen her before and Photopass took this picture. Actually they took a lot of pictures LOL.
Image0902.jpg

It was just one of those pixie dust moments.

I crunched the #s, and our cheapest TS meal is actually Liberty Tree Tavern on our last MK day... I figured it to be (at the most) $70 incl. tip... So, if I happen to have an extra $70 when we leave (it's possible)... I might end up making another ADR for somewhere fun... Still want to do Biergarten...

I remember hearing about your experience - and it's just rotten. I even remember you showing pics of the meal - and you're right your PC was very scared looking... He was probably the cook or something because PC called in sick that day?

This is awesome! I'll bet the characters at DHS that are out right away don't get a lot of interaction because everyone is scrambling to get to TSM... That's a thought, maybe we should hit the characters and get to TSM a little later, that would make our FP later, but that's a ride that we are OK to only do once - there are others that the girls would rather do.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience. :guilty: I know it can happen at any restaurant. We feel the same way about GFC and we'll NEVER go back.

I've seen some face characters that I really ... well ... maybe those girls should take a week off each month. :sad2: Maybe one day you'll brave it again and have a super experience!

OMG how adorable!!! That's great that you got Donald and Daisy all to yourself!!! Everytime we see the characters in the AM, they have lines like you wouldn't believe ... so we keep walking.

I need to go through my spreadsheet one more time and verify my prices so I know which ones I'm paying OOP and which ones I should use my credits for. I noticed the TH price changed, and it's going to be about $20 more than I expected. No big deal, but does make me wonder what else has changed.

I really loved Biergarten ... and wish we could go back. It's just not in the cards this year.

We've never been lucky to see them at RD with little to no wait (the characters that is). Maybe this year. :confused3 I just know on our way to get our TSM FPs, the lines for characters have always been UGH. So we've never stopped. :sad2:

What a small world Lidian and D, all three of us are doing Tusker House. I guess great minds think alike. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I am doing one OOP mean (I found an early breakfast for CP and had to snag it) so I looked at all my meals to see which would be the cheapest. So I am paying for Rose & Crowns OOP.

Guess who??? Yes, your ol' pal mtgirl29.... I am getting ready to read your PTR.

Got some great news today. I may be going to Disney in April....WHOOOHOOO! :cool1::cool1::cool1: I CANNOT believe it. Hubs has a work trip planned to Orlando in April and I might meet up with him for a long weekend. Super excited!!! Now off to read!
