My kids go to a private school and have an early 2 week spring break. I looked at some of the predictions of March 2011 but how accurate are they? They start spring break March 18th 2011. I was thinking about booking the first week March 19-26 2011.
How crowded was it this past week would help a bunch March 20-27th 2010?

The two Easter weeks (that is not one) are extremely crowded. Nevertheless the week you identify is usually very crowded including because it is a very common college spring break week.

Is everything crowded or just DHS and EPCOT? DS will be 7 and DD will be 4. I would hope it wasn't massively crowded. Would you pick the week after March 26-April 2 2011 or is that just as crowded?

I don't know about this year, but we went that week last year--super crowded! We opted to go in June this year instead because everything was jam-packed with all of us Texans on spring break! That said, the weather was absolutely perfect.

We were just there from March 20th thru the 27th, and to me the crowds were not that bad. Maybe our experience in navigating the parks makes it seem less crowded, but we had no problems. We utilize fast passes so we never waited more than 15 to 20 min. for any attraction.

we were there frommarch 5-13 and we found it crowded...doable but crowded. I will not go back again in March for a family trip. we usually go fist week in september or first week in feb and both of those times were much less crowded.

it was cold when we went though so maybey that factored in....no one was at thepools swimming everyone at the parks?? I went that week for the princess half marathon and I loved it but maybey that was part of the crowds too? if that was the only time I could go I would rather go than not but we prefer sept....partly for the warmer weather and partly for the crowds.

We were just there for an extended family trip March 18-24 and I thought the crowd level was very high. What saved us was having the Give a Day Get a Day vouchers for each park. We had those fast passes plus fast passes from our park tickets so we never really waited in line. It was actually a more relaxing vacation than many I've had at Disney but that was ALL do to the fast passes. We kept commenting on how horrible it would have been had we NOT done the volunteer work and selected fast passes.

We have done the week before Presidents the past 2 years. This year we ended up leaving to go down a day early and it was very cold everyday. We are debating going in March (kids won't miss any school) or May ( kids miss a week of school. In Feb it didn't seem crowded at all to us. We have AP and we know the parks pretty well. We don't use maps in the parks. So now I'm thinking may again but we may just try March to see what happens. No harm if it is busy we go every year.

We were just there March 14-21. It was pretty crowded. We weren't interested in going on the "big" rides, as it was DH, DS (19 months), and myself. Stand-by rides for things like Space Mountain, and Toy Story Mania were 120+minutes. Fast passes were usually all distributed by late morning/early afternoon.

One thing to keep in mind about the time frame you are considering is that in Canada, we have "March break" which is typically around the same time. I work for a school board, and the dates for 2011 March break haven't been finalized yet. Good luck:)

We were just there from March 20-27th and we thought it was very crowded. We also did the GAD and got the fastpass cards so our wait time for rides wasn't long but their were alot of people. Alot of big school groups as a bunch of High School bands were performing before SpectroMagic throughout the week. We have decided that Spring Break time is not for us. We went last year the first week of June and it was much better than this last week.

Whenever you are there at a time of large crowds, MK is actually the worst. That last week of March to early April is actually a time when a lot of schools always have their spring break

CROWDED!

Peter Pan was a 120 minute wait, even at night. Toy story was also 120 minutes, as well as Soarin and Test Track. :scared1: Space Mountain was 70 minutes.....TOT and RRC were about 70 minutes as well.

The only things that were less than an hour was the Haunted Mansion, Small World, and Dumbo.

The reason I remember is becasue we too had the fast passes from GAD. I remember thinking that without those, it would have been a nightmare.

Most rides were out of fastpasses by 11 a.m. as well.

Spring Break for us in Alabama next year is the week of March 12-19.

In 2011 Easter is on April 24th. A number of the public school systems in Maryland and Northern Virginia have scheduled Spring Break for the prior week (April 18 - 22).

By going the second week of your trip you should missing a lot of the college crowd.

We are considering a mid March trip for 2011. I am wondering for those of you with experience.....are the PM EMHs crowded or does it taper off by then?

We're going the week of March 6 - 13. It's Mardi Gras vacation week. Can we expect any other spring breaks @ that time?
