Hi all

Dh is an accountant and can't do any traveling from Feb to mid April. I'm thinking of starting a new tradition of doing mother-daughter trip during spring break and was thinking of going to DL in March 2010 (dd will be 6). Is it horribly crowded this time of year? I was thinking of coming during the week instead of the weekend if that makes a difference.

I noticed on Disney site that they are not booking vacation packages past Jan 2010. Anyone know when these will open up for March? I don't always do the packages - could book hotel and tickets separately - I will have to look into this some more.

Any other thoughts on this?

Thanks.

Another question - are any of the pools at the hotels heated? DD loves to swim but I can't remember if it will be warm enough in March to swim outside.

So far I'm considering HoJos or Fairfield Inn or maybe Candy Cane Inn. I don't really need anything fancy for just the 2 of us but a heated swimming pool might be the deciding factor.

Thanks again.

The earlier the better in March ~ Spring Break crowds start by mid March perhaps earlier. We visited 3/2-3/5 this year and other than a couple times with pretty heavy rain it was a great visit. There was an afternoon when it would've been warm enough to swim but we did not. We just returned from our 2nd stay @ HoJo's and we love it there! Make sure to see if the ent. rate is available during your stay.

Spring Break is our chosen time to go as well. We were there the last weekend of MArch and it was pretty crowded. We were there the end of the second week the year before and it was not bad at all.

According to their website, HOJO has a heated pool.

The hojo pool is cold!. However, your daughter would probably love the pirates cove play area. Somehow they seem immune to the cold, and the adults can sit in the hot tub so it works well.

We were in Anaheim between 16th and 21st March this year and it was very warm 80-85 i think is the conversion which is like summer here in Australia which was great.

There was a cheerleading comp on on the weekend but didnt effect us much... The lines were ok didnt really wait standby for much just used fast pass...

Standby for Space was 60mins and same for Indy

Don't forget that World of Color opens March 2010. So plan your dates accordingly. They have not announced an official date, but they want it open for spring break.

:scared1:F.Y.I this is the month that "Cheerleaders" take over the Resort area.

We've gone twice in March, last year right after Easter (really bad time to go) & this year we were there the 7th-14th. Weekends were definately busier, by Weds & Thurs it was comfortable & we left town on Saturday morning (had breakfast & last minute shopping at DTD) & the lines were backed up to go thru security into DTD with an estimated time of 30-40 minutes....then they still had to go thru the actual Disneyland gates!!! :scared1: We left at a good time!!!

March is usually steady/busy.......everyone's spring break is different. I believe Arizona schools were out while we were there. Disney also runs SoCal specials during March....so that also brings in a lot of people. The week prior & week after Easter is usually crazy mad busy....so if you can avoid those 2 weeks, I would advise you to do so.

The World of Color is the huge renovation that has taken over the lagoon at DCA. The show is supposed to be music, water, lights, special effects, etc that takes place in the evening. Grander than Fantasmic!! When that is set to open, people will come & it will just add to the already busy time.

Hope that helps a bit. As for the pools, we were able to swim during our trip....there's always a day or two of warm weather every time we've gone.

Thanks for the info

Looks like Easter is April 4 next year - we would be going around March 15. I figured it would be busy but if we have 3 days then we should be able to see everything. Sounds like I should try for the middle of the week.

Not all of Arizona Schools are out at this time and I have looked for March of 2010 and can tell you at least one district is out the third week of March and another is out the weekend of Easter. That said our school district is year round and is out on break from March 6 to March 21st this year. Yesterday our kids started back to school.

We are also looking at our first trip to Disney about the same time you will be there! I am cautiously exploding with excitement because we had to cancel our trip in 2008.

I know it's strange ~ to me Spring Break is Easter Weekend, that's what it is here in UT ~ but some western states have breaks starting in early March through Easter weekend, even beyond.

The district we live in is out the second week of March. The colleges are out the third week. Those two weeks are very popular for Spring Break for AZ schools.

I think if you plan to go during the week you should be fine. We didn't have any issues the year we went around the 15th and we were there over a weekend.
