Wow.... I get to start a thread?

This will be our 2nd Magic cruise and really looking forward to it. First was to Tortola on April 25, 2009. We rebooked while onboard and firmed up our date this October.

It will be me (40), DW (42), DS (8) and DD (6).... (ages at time of cruise)

I suppose I need a countdown timer now, huh?

How exciting - this is our second Magic cruise as well. We did the Eastern Caribbean in 2008 and just loved it. Can't wait. This going to be a surprise for our kids ages 9 and 12. I wish we re-booked when on board, but i just couldn't convince my hubby

Hello all. We just booked!!! I actually switched from a Mexican Riviera cruise I had booked the previous week because we are doing Eastern this spring break and I was looking for a different itinerary. However, I just found out the school calendar is different next year (a week later) so now we can do the Western!

My kids will be 11 and 13, and this will be our 3rd (my 4th) Disney cruise.

I just booked about 10 days ago. This will be our first cruise, with Disney or ever, so I have lots to learn and love to get other's advice off this board!

It will be myself and husband and DD - 11 and DS - 9 (when we cruise). The cruise worked out perfect with the kid's Spring Break (although we will take them out a couple days early so we can get down there ahead of time and maybe even go to the Space Center.)

We'll be in cabin 6542.

When I get depressed at work, I like to pull up BingMaps and zoom into the bird's eye view of the Magic docked at Port Canaveral and just look at the location of our room and the ship. Only a year from this coming Friday left to go!

If I don't book anymore between now and then, this will be our 9th cruise - we are going on the Dream 4/11/11 and I am trying to get Platinum before then (a girl has to have a goal!) We live in Florida, 45 minutes away from the Port so it is easier to grab a last minute deal when they come up.

I know it is a long way away, but can we plan a meet? wanna do FE's? Oh I just love planning for my cruises!!!

To those that are new. There are lots of things happening the first day on board. If you have not done a meet before, you may get on board and think that you will be uncomfortable or be the odd one out. Please come. It is a very welcoming environment and from personal experience, you miss out on so much if you skip it. My first cruise I decided not to go because I thought it would be weird and my husband did not want to go. On my second cruise I insisted my family go and what a wonderful way to meet like-minded folks. Some of those on the meet I hardly saw the whole cruise, but there was always a smile. Others became friends. We threw cabin parties before dinner, went to shows together, danced and won contests together. I am still friends with many today. The great thing about the meet is you can go and then figure out if and whom you may want to spend more time with. If you don’t click with anyone – that is okay. I noticed my daughter, who is extremely shy (you would not know it because she really works at hiding it) has a much better time on board. Everywhere she goes, she runs into kids she met during the meet.

The Promenade lounge has a bar and a small dance floor. There are tables and chairs on both sides of the dance floor and a long walkway with round windows on the side. I will sit at the table that is closest to the bar and dance floor. If you are not sure what to do, just come up and ask if I am Absybabsy or Amanda. I will have our group list and a big smile ready. I will also post a pic of myself on this site before the cruise. Please don’t be shy; I cannot wait to meet everyone.

What is FE? I love planning as well. Can't wait! My son will be 13 by then and offically a teenager, so he is really exited that he will be able to go to the The Teen Stack....My daughter will be 10 by the time of the cruise

I have gone to several meets and it is great to meet the first day - then you have buddies all around the ship to say hi, ask questions or even hang out. I have some very good friends I am still in contact with and my daughter has made friends from all over.

Usually, whoever posted the first thread will update with everyone's names, ages and other info we want to share. I will be happy to put together a printed list just before the cruise so we all know were each other are (if you want to be found!)


I know it is far away but I am so looking forward to a 7 nighter after so many short ones lately.

I would love to do that! I know this is a stupid question, but on our last cruise we had a "Happy Birthday" magnet on our door and went missing half way thru the cruise...Has anything like that ever happened to you?

No we have never found anything missing - however I did lose a diamond necklace on my January cruise. Still sad since my husband bought it for me on our June 09 cruise.

Anyway - we went in January on my birthday and one of the other disers left a HUGE mickey happy birthday felt hanging - it was beautiful. She let me keep it so I can pass it on - I can't wait to put it out for my daughter's 11th bday on our 4/7/11 cruise - then I will get it to another diser!

I went on a cruise last July with another diser and she put different magnets and signs on our door everyday. I have read on other posts some folks finding things missing. I read one where all of the magnets were missing and the other disers on board brought some over and covered the door! I love this place!

Too bad for your diamond necklace...so sorry! It is sad when things go missing...but I really love the idea and can't wait to do all that. I was just looking at a FE on ebay and loved it. I would love to find some disney magnets...but have enough time to do that!

Hello All,
I'd like to join the onboard fun. My older sister and I will be taking our first cruise ever on board the Disney Magic next March. Debby & Chris are leaving the kids, grandkids, & hubs at home for a sisters only cruise.

We've never cruised before, we've been to WDW & DL several times throughout the years. We love all things Disney. We would love to join in on all the fun! The FE's & gifts sound like a blast.

Hello everyone,

We booked this cruise while onboard the Eastern this spring, but I didn't want to commit to the thread until I knew we could swing it ... and it looks like we can! I know 3dog2kidmommy was on our cruise, but I'm sorry but I can't remember if we met! My apologies!

It's me, DH and DD, who will be 11, going into Grade 6 this fall. She had so much fun in the kid's club and is already trying to plan out her protocol for moving up from the Lab.

We would very much like to participate in FEs, and of course a meet before departure if at all possible. And like our fellow Canadians from PEI, we also are heading to WDW in August. It'll be hot, but hey, it's Florida!
