March 15, 2015 MAGIC Cruise!! :)

So cool! Please tell us about working for Disney!
Working at Disney was fun! The first time I worked there I was at Cosmic Rays in Tomorrowland. The best part was that every night in the summer I would make sure I was on the terrace to watch TinkerBell fly out of the castle. Trust me, it is one of the best place to watch her and not crowded. After Cosmic's, I went to the WOD at the Market Place. I met my husband on the second day. So most of our dates were at Disney. We loved the dueling piano bar at the Boardwalk and would spend a lot of time on Tom Sawyer's island. That was 15 years ago and the Disney perks were amazing. My BIL still works there but the perk just aren't what they used to be. He is able to cruise a LOT for a great price though. :)

Add me to the excited to start planning/shopping! I was also wondering if the FE group was set or if things would be moved around?

Hello everyone! Three more weeks til school starts back up and then I wont be such a taxi service and can check in a bit more! Welcome to the newbies! So excited to see some discussion here!

And my 12, will be 13, DD is desperately hoping to meet a buddy to hang out with in Edge that maybe she can email with in advance a little? I dont think there are any girls Edge age here, are there?

My DD will be turning 14 just before the cruise and will be Edge Age.

Hello All, Our family will be joining you all on this cruise. My husband and I, along with our children and grandchildren are looking forward to spending 7 nights on the Magic. Our first family cruise was on the Dream in November 2012.... four-night Bahamas. It was so much fun we're doing it all over again :) Looking forward to participating on this forum and getting to know some of you before the trip. Karen (and Ed) in Maine
Welcome!

Hi All,
My plan for the FE is to cap this first group at 12 staterooms, and then start a new group for all comers after that. I haven't counted, but I think we're nosing in on 12 soon!
Let the shopping begin ... soon!

I'm so glad you posted this, I was late-night browsing yesterday evening and thinking I needed 20 of what I was considering...12 is much more manageable ;)

Back a week now from our summer week at WDW and still not over the vacation over blues. With the kids getting older we seem to be cherishing the times when all four of us can get away. This cruise was a must do with DD off to college we caught a break with her and DS spring breaks being the same week and not so sure how many more we will get like this. I also turn the big 50 in Feb so we are bundling that with spring break - cannot wait.

Also saw that prices went up a bit for the same category veranda room as we have so that is a sign we are getting ever so closer. Our 105 days date to check-in and book things is November 30 so only 17 more weeks for that

Saw that you are organizing the FE for the March 15, 2015 Magic Cruise. We would love to be a part of it.
DH: Chris
DW: Emily
DD: Sydney (9)
DS: Noah (7)

Thanks so much. First time on the Disboards & it is a bit overwhelming! I am not allowed to send pm yet! sorry
Emily
Welcome and we are also from the Nashville area.

Sorry to report that I will have to leave this nice group as we had to change our sailing dates. DD spring break dates either changed or we messed up something but her and DS are not on the same schedule in March. We have moved to a July sailing on the Fantasy as we like the Caribbean, and the Magic does Europe in the summer months. Disappointed in not getting to sail the re-imagined Magic but glad we were able to change our schedule.

All the best to all of you and enjoy your March sailing and the Magic - Cheers!

Unfortunately will also have to report we have changed our dates.
We just found out about a great sale offered to DVC members for this fall, for the Magic only, similar itineraries, and couldn't pass up the significant savings to bump up our vacation a few months.

We wish you all a great cruise in March!

So sorry to see you both go -- but we know you'll have fabulous vacations, even if we're not there to share!

Hello all! We just changed to this cruise. We were booked on the Fantasy on March 14th. My son usually gets the Friday before spring break off and we drive so a Sat/Sat cruise worked better for us. But this year they don't get that day off so Sun/Sun works just as well (if not better). We are going to be on the Fantasy May 30th also, so changing to the Magic seemed like a great idea. It will be cruise #9 - we have been on all the ships (just got off the Dream Thursday). This itinerary is similar to our May cruise-except in May we go to Jamaica instead of Key West. The only new port we would have had on the Fantasy in March would have been San Juan. But my boys don't really care that much about the ports. They are really looking forward to seeing the reimagined Magic. And one boy said he would rather have a new restaurant (Carioca's) instead of a new port-lol.

It will be me, DH and the 4 boys (not really boys anymore- they will be 16,18,19,22)

So sorry to see several of you leave us! But at least you still have cruises to look forward to! We will miss you though.

Welcome oklamom! Happy to have you join in! We struggled between deciding fantasy v magic that week for our spring break too but the kids wanted to Magic. Welcome to the group!

We just got back from a short two night trip to WI Dells. We stayed at Great Wolf Lodge and the kids had a great time. It went way too fast. At least it is slowly getting closer to the cruise time! My kiddos go back to school a week from tomorrow, how about everyone else?

12, 12, 12, anyone else dying for us to get to our 12? Lol. Happy Fall! Happy Back to School!

No school here, the teachers are on strike!

I booked our flights last week, just have to add our hotels on before/after closer to the dates.

I'm surprised we're only at 9 so far for FE! I have something I really want to order but haven't pulled the trigger yet...

The FB page for this group started a FE list as well. Hopefully it wont pull people away from here. I joined the group but there really has been minimal activity! I am anxious for our group to be set too so I can start thinking of gifts! :)

We are back in the swing of school and schedules here. We just paid the cruise off so that felt good! Airfare is bought, reservations are made, we are pretty much set... now to wait wait wait! Its almost to the 6 month mark!

I am sad we won't be cruising on this one anymore :(
You all seem like such a nice bunch of families.

The new cruise we booked only has a FB FE and I only like DisMeets, so we won't get to participate. Disappointed. I am not a fan of putting so much personal info as on FB, so I will never join one of those groups. I'm thinking it's the way things here are going and I feel like a dinosaur now.

Sorry, I just wanted to vent! and let you know that it is great that you actually still have a Dis FE group. Don't worry about the other group, do your thing and enjoy!

All the best!

Maria, I am sad too! I understand the hesitations about FB. Its hard. Is there a thread on the DIS for your cruise? Maybe you could get one going. I bet you could find a few others who feel like you do!

We have been doing monthly dinners to count down to the cruise. I try to plan food and a movie. Since we are nearing the 6 month mark, this weekend will be Wreck it Ralph. Working on some ideas!
