March 14, '10 "Wonder"ful cruise!!

Wow! We are really almost neighbors! That's pretty cool! The kids sail free didn't work for us because we prefer 2 rooms but even at full price I think we got a pretty good deal! I think it is the time of year more than anything. I know it has been closed to quad occupancy for a while now.

Is it spring break in Longview also? Are y'all flying or driving?

It is spring break for our kids (Spring Hill ISD). I'm guessing that it is for the rest of Longview, too.

We're gonna fly. We have frequent flyer miles, so we'll probably fly out of Dallas on Saturday so we can board as early as possible on Sunday.

I CAN'T WAIT!

My daughter has a field trip to Vicksburg for that Thurs and Fri morning. My dh and ds are going to drive over and meet us and then we will drive the rest of the way, stopping in Pensacola on Friday night. We plan to be there asap on Sunday morning also, I love getting on the ship early!! The kids love the non-crowded pool!!

When we fly we ususally go out of Jackson, I love, love, love Southwest!! We are getting ready to send in final payment so that really makes it real!!

Did everyone have a nice Thanksgiving? It was strange being home for Thanksgiving. We usually vacation over this week, but changed it up for this year. We will be gone for Christmas break.
I was able to get the tree up and the house decorated before Thanksgiving, which was nice.
I can't believe how quickly Christmas is coming up. I am almost done with the shopping. How about all of you?
I am planning the Christmas party at my son's school. We are going to have a birthday party theme. It should be cute

So, who wants to organize the fish extender's thing? If someone can explain it, that would be great. We have never done this before, but I have read some about it.

Thanksgiving was fun here. My family came up to our house and we went to see the Macy's parade in NYC (about an hour drive from our house). It was really cool to see the balloons in person. We couldn't really hear any of the bands or performers because tv helicopters kept coming by and being louder than the parade.

I think the fish extenders would be fun, but I don't really understand how it works. Has anyone done them before?

Hey,
Are any of you planning to do the fish extenders!

I would LOVE to do the fish extenders. I've never done one before, but I'd be happy to organize the trade. I'll gather some information and post it here so that we can hopefully get as many families as involved as possible.

That would be great! Thanks, Shannon!

Carrie (cbh), How exciting to see the Macy's Parade in person. I never thought about the tv helicopers. Takes a little away from the parade. I would love to go some year. Was this the first time you've gone?

This is the first time that we have gone. We have only live here for about a year and half. We went to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular last year the day before Thanksgiving so we didn't want to go into the city two days in a row. We really lucked out with the weather and the parking and traffic wasn't bad at all. I want to go again next year since it will be our last year here. It was really cool after watching it every year on TV and to be able to see it all in person. I just need to make friends with someone important so that I can get tickets to the VIP viewing area where we can hear all the performers.

My Son(DS 11) & I & my service dog, will be joining you on the cruise! This is going to be are 7th time on the boat!

That would be SO neat to see it in person. You are so lucky to have the opportunity to do so. I would take advantage of going when you can. Where are you moving to? Good luck with those VIP tickets!

Welcome Paragd911! We are so glad you will be joining us on this cruise. I have 12 & 10 year old boys. I think this board will pick up after the holiday's. At least that's when I'll be on here more. We are going to Disneyworld for New Year's. We leave Christmas day. I am getting the suitcases out this week. I'm not sure if I will do this again. This is our first time to be gone at this time of the year and it's a lot of work. Making sure everything is done for Christmas AND getting ready for a big trip. I am looking forward to bringing in the new year at Disney, though. It should be fun!

WELCOME! Hope to met you on board!

Well we are paid in full for this trip.:cool1:, but having a hard time getting into the planning mode for this trip, it will be a relaxing do nothing trip.

I am sure Christmas is over the time will go way too fast and this trip will be here before you know it.

I have no idea where we are moving next. Hopefully somewhere warmer. The snow really stinks in the winter here. We will know about 6 months before we go (so maybe Jan 2011?). My husband is in the Army (he is an instructor at West Point right now) so we move fairly often. We have been married 9 1/2 years and this is our 5th home. We always try to do the fun and touristy stuff where ever we end up. My to-do list for here still has Niagra Falls (waiting for warmer weather), the Statue of Liberty, and ice skating at Rockefellar Center. I am hoping to do the skating one this winter since my boys will have another year of lessons under their belts.

I am REALLY going to need to the cruise in March to escape the snow!

HI everyone,
We will be joining all of you on our first Disney cruise ever!! :woohoo: We are going to surprise our daughters at Christmas with the news. Now I just need to figure out how to package all of this for them under the tree. LOL My DH and I are thinking of doing some type of puzzle for them to put together. I have been keeping this secret for months!! Only 1 more week until I can tell them!!

Sounds amazing!! What an great gift. Wanna hear how they reacted.
Well, I haven't checked this link for awhile now. Now, that the holidays are over will really be focusing on this trip. Cannot wait. I will have a set of report cards to write beforehand and that is always a stressful time. So, I know when this trip arrives I will be more than ready.
Today I bought some of those vac. sealed packing bags to try. Planning on packing light. I am going to set aside some of the cruise-related gifts(new bathing suit, flip flops etc) right into the suitcase.
My whole family has had the H1N1 vaccinations back in November so that is done. We will place the kids in bubbles for the month of February.
I am stocking up on Clorox wipes and Hand sanitizer in my classroom--do not want to get sick before this trip!!!! That is my biggest stressor about this.
Hope the next few months go by quickly.

Booked on March 14th for the 4 day Wonder cruise. Family is so excited... this is our first cruise ever. We are from Canada and can't wait to escape the cold and snow.

Eary Happy New Year!! Made final payment today!!:cool1: How about everyone else?? How is everyone doing??
