I definilty want in on the FE group when it get's planned. We are super excited. :)

Great!! Me too! Maybe people can post if they are interested in the FE and I can start a list. Let me know how many, ages. Don't worry about stateroom numbers at this point. We can add those later

Thanks

Its never to soon to start!:goodvibes

I started a list in post #4.

Please let me know who wants to be added.

I just booked this cruise. Had to move to this one from the 7 day that leaves on March 9. I'm a bowler and that cruise would cause me to miss 2 Saturdays as there aren't flights that would get me back in time to bowl.

Not sure on room yet as my TA is still in process of switching it over but I would like to be added to the FE list for the cruise

This is not a very active thread but I always try to check in. I will add you to the FE list :) who will be participating?

Hi All!! :wave2:

Nice to see a few more peeps joining our group!

My daughter and I are totally excited to participate in a FE for our group so sign us up! Liz and Wyeth (daughter who will turn 16 on the Monday during our cruise).

We also just found out that she'll need knee surgury for a torn ACL at the end of the summer. One of her first questions was if this would impact our Disney trip (both from a financial and recovery impact). Luckily- I was able to say 'no' on both counts. It will be sooo good to have this trip to look forward to as her fall will mean no soccer and lots of physical therapy. Poor kid! :sad1:

So by March- we'll both be totally psyched to be on our cruise and have some Disney time!! :cool1:

What are people looking forward to the most? Both my daughter and I love the restaurants!! Can't wait to have that sail away drink in my hand too!

Hope everybody is having a good spring so far!!

Liz

That must be tough for her to not be able to play soccer. Having the cruise will at least be something to look forward to though and to celebrate her sweet 16, how wonderful!

I can't wait to check out the restaurants as well. I am not looking forward to just 4 days. We did the transatlantic on the magic for 14 days so this will be so quick. We love the magic so I hope the Dream still has that "feel" to it. We went on a carnival ship and it was huge and I didn't like how big it was. I also can't wait to get to CC.

I will add you to the FE list!

Have a great Earth Day!!

Gina

I'll be the only person partaking in the FE. Traveling solo. My TA officially got everything transferred over. Made my after cruise hotel stay too. Staying at AKL after the cruise for a couple days

Glad it all got sorted out. I love AKL!! So great that you own there. It is beautiful!

I added you to the FE list!

WOW...14 days on the Magic...how awesome!!! 4 days will just feel like a blink...but it is better than no days I guess! :thumbsup2

We have sailed once on the Wonder and then last year on the Dream. Yes it will initially feel bigger and the hallways go on forever especially when delivering FE goodies but we like both ships for different reasons. The only consistent complaint I've heard about the Dream has been about the size of the pool...that and people stalking out deck chairs by the pool at 7 am in the morning and keeping them all day. As long as you know those might be the challenges- one can work around them and not let it impact your time on the ship.

We love CC too but I always worry we'll have some 'incident' and be one of THOSE cruises who don't get to dock at CC!!! I don't want to get too excited and have it not happen. At this point, we've been twice so my worry is over and if we can't dock...at least we've been before!

Love talking and planning our trips...makes the days leading up to the trip (no matter how far away) go more quickly!

Have a good week!

Hey Liz,
I agree with you, I love talking about and planning my trips! We are forever planning, (as you can see by my signature), we have a few trips planned right now.

I would be very disappointed if we didn't get to go to CC but these things happen. We probably won't even get off in Nassau, we have been there before and with the cruise being so short we have to take advantage of the time we have.

I see your screen name is campinggal, have you ever stayed at Fort Wilderness? We are staying there for the first time, renting a 5th wheel. We figure it is something we have never done so why not?

Yay- we got our thread to page 3!! Hahahahaha!

We won't be getting off in Nassau either so you at least have to share the both with us!!

As for my 'campinggal' name- funny thing is when we go to WDW- we don't camp!! That is my time to be pampered. The WDW trips are something DD and I do together and leave DH home. I'm embarrassed to say that he has NO interest in anything Disney (or crowds)!! The rest of our vacations usually involve camping with him thus my 'campinggal' name.

However, I have stayed at FW but it was WAY back in the '80s. DD and I have been over there for Hoop Dee Doo more recently (two years ago) and always enjoy the ambiance of the place- it looks so relaxing and many folks 'dress up' their campsites and it looks like lots of fun. You'll have to give us the scoop when we meet up on the boat!

You have some fun trips coming up...I'm hoping to do a BW/F&WF combo when DD gets a little older and we can get there during that time. Her dang school keeps getting in the way of vacationing in Oct/Nov!!

Later-

Hi All,

Thought we would join this thread. We are -

DD (me, aka Kurt) - 4X'ish,
DW (Marlea) - 4X'ish,
DD (Kyan Grace) - 9 at the time of the cruise, and
DS (Kristopher) - 6 at the time of the cruise.

We live in Texas, but our family is from the midwest and the East Coast.

We did the 14 day inaugural transatlantic on the Magic, and two 7 day cruises on Magic from Port Canaveral. My wife and I have also been on CCL, RCL, NCL, and Celebrity. We really appreciate the level of service on DCL, and we generally feel safe having the children on the ship.

This will be the first time we have done a back-to-back cruise, but we are really going for the relaxation on the ship rather than the ports. We have never been on the Dream, and we want to try the new DCL ships. Mark us tentative for the fish extenders (FE's).

We look forward to meeting all of you!

Woot woot page 3!! lol On my cruise in 2008 we had chapters!! It was incredible!!

I do not camp! but my kids enjoy it so I thought Disney would be a great place to start., We are also staying in a 35 ft trailer fully equipped so Im not sure I can even call it camping lol. I have read on the Disboards that it is alot of fun so I am looking forward to it for sure.

We meet friends that we made on our first cruise for F&WF, just the adults. I always look forward to seeing them and at WDW just makes it more special.

I guess you love cruising! Great trips! There was nothing like the TA cruise, we loved it but to be on the inaugural one, :goodvibes

We cruised on Carnival and I agree there is no service quite like DCL and I also feel better with the childrens programs.

Glad your joining us! I will add you to the FE list (tentatively).

Just booked our flights for next March. Flying in a day early and staying an extra day after the cruise. Will stay in Cocoa Beach the night before.

So, we are planning for the March 2013 4 day cruise on the Dream also. I haven't booked yet, but will be in about two weeks. Trying to decide between a veranda and an inside stateroom...

At the time of cruise, it will be:
Me- 38
Hubby - 42
DS - 14
DD - 4

How do we get involved in the cruise meet and fish extenders? Or do we need to wait until we book in a few weeks so we know our room category, etc?

Also, is this thread for the cruise meet? Or are there other threads I haven't found for the FE and cruise meet sign ups?

Thanks for any help.:)

YAY!!! More people for our group!!! :cool1:

You are in the right place for everything- one thread does it all...at least for now. I've seen some groups start a specific FE thread if their group gets too large but we'll cross that bridge as we come to it.

Gina (Belle1627) started this thread and has started a list for our FE that is back on the first page. She'll edit it and add names/ages at time of sailing as people join our group. No need to know room category/number yet. We'll certainly confirm the list with room numbers as we get closer to sailing.

Happy planning!! I'm traveling with my daughter and my treat is to have a veranda. I'm an early riser and I love taking my coffee out onto the veranda and reading while she is still sleeping. However, I'd be happy in an inside state room too just to be on the cruise if it fit my budget better.

Awesome! :thumbsup2

It will be nice to have that extra day before the cruise as a cushion. I'd be too stressed flying in the winter too close to our cruise departure date! No WAY would I want to miss the boat!!!

Although I had a moment of panic thinking I missed Southwest Air's opening of March dates for flying!!! :lmao: Never know when they will open bookings for March- probably not until October so I just have to wait patiently!

Liz

I became sold on flying in the day before the cruise because on our first cruise ever, our flight out of Toronto was delayed 3 hrs due to a snow storm. Lucky for us this was the day before! Was also fortunate to have booked the Hyatt at MCO. Took the Disney shuttle to to port the next day.
