Marathon weekend

We've decided to take advantage of the DVC discount for the 2002 marathon. We have reservations for a studio at VWL Jan. 4-8. We would like to switch to a studio at BWV. What are the chances of getting one at this time of year at the 7 month window? Do the rooms fill up fast at BW for the marathon?

They do fill up, but if you call at 7 months you have a good chance of getting in. If it's full go on the waitlist. We have done this, and only ONCE did it not come through for us.

Are you running the full or half marathon?

Actually, I'm not running, but my husband will be running the marathon. I'm thinking of doing the Family fun run though. We're also going to enter my 5 & 6 yr olds in the 200 yd dash. Sounds like a fun weekend. Anyone else running in it? I will definitely call at 7 months for BWV. It seems like it would be more convenient for the marathon. Do I call when it is 7 months before the start of the vacation (June 4 if we are arriving Jan. 4)?

I have considered the half -marathon but have not yet committed to it.
It's 7 months from your last day, otherwise you would need to call every day.

It was fun but cold at first. (only in the low 30s) We stay at OKW . We are going down Thursday and returning on Tuesday. I recommend it to all runners. It is flat and they give you 7 hours to finish. The half runs through Epcot and Magic Kingdom.
