Marathon Weekend Travel Drama

Ugh, anyone else freaking out about all the weather-related flight issues going on? I've already heard of a few people having their flights delayed to Thursday (and so missing the first leg of the Dopey).

I'm in Toronto and so far, so good for my flight on Wednesday morning, although I'm going to be clenching my teeth until that plane takes off.

Hope everyone is getting to Florida safe and sound and on time!

I wonder if they'd set up some kind of emergency bib pickup Thursday morning, given the large numbers of people who intended to fly down Monday or Tuesday but may end up arriving too late Wednesday.

Last year a guy I know who was running the 5k and the half had arrived very early Friday morning at the hotel...he was suppose to arrive Thursday morning but his connection got delayed for hours and hours and he thought he wouldn't be able to get his bib for the 5k...because he hadn't made arrangements for anyone else to pick it up...but he did get his bib and as I recall, he had to pick it up at the waiting area somewhere where the 5k started...he was so stressed but they did have his bib there...I think he arrived at his hotel at like 1am and had to get up another couple of hours later to get his 5k bib only...then he had to go back to the expo for this half bib.

After having my flight cancelled 4 days in a row, I finally gave up and cancelled the whole trip. Very disappointed but I will be saving money for the Expo and lots of food, I guess. My hotel room will be used by my daughter (a CM with discounts!) and her friend. I will now set my sights on the Princess weekend next month.

Sorry to hear of the delays and cancelled plans. We have a friend from Buffalo whose Wednesday morning flight was cancelled and the next flight with seats was Monday.
