7 days and 71 miles in the book of personal records. I really don't keep a book but it sounds good. ;)

Made it out around 0230 each morning for the drive to EPCOT. For the 5K and 10K they had us park way far away from the security entrance, then for the half we were right at the entrance and for the full we were on the dirt in the lowlands way-way far away.

5K and 10K went well but pushed the half harder than I should have. Full was dragging from the start. Wasn't sure if I was going to slap the turn 2 wall cap at the race track but just had to since ....IT WAS THERE. No question about getting my McFlurry at mile 15 and glad I did it again. State Trooper lady was waiting for me at the traffic light intersection and a customer remembered me from last year.

The chocolate candy handed out in HS was a good pick me upper but towards the end of HS I was starting to drag. Like I've done in the past, I hook on to a faster pacing woman and follow behind blocking out the pain. The young woman I had pace me was AWESOME. Brought me through those last few miles in record time.

Half marathon at FW started at 0249 and was a SLOW go, but the deer kept me company. Bus ride to Port Canaveral was fast, but then again I wound up sleeping some helping the time fly by.

Tuesday morning I was out on deck at 0353 with even more tired legs. There were 3 crew members working and probably thought that I had totally lost my mind. 16 laps in and my 10K was complete but I walked around a bit more to wind down.

The ship docked at Castaway Cay at midnight. First time I can remember being there that early. I heard that some RD people were on the island setting things up as soon as the ship was cleared. A, B and C corrals for the 700+ racers. Corral A left the ship around 0600, the earliest a cruise passenger has ever stepped foot on the island. We had the typical "stand and wait" for the start with music and DJ keeping things rolling along. Corral A went off a 0700 with 10 minute intervals. Down the runway with a right towards Serenity Bay, a u-turn back to the runway then a left to the tower walk, back to the runway and the finish. Medal for the Challenge race and a medallion for finishing the 5K.

I walked a bit more once back on the Dream for a 7 day total of 77 miles, added 3 miles on Thursday so 80 completed my adventure. Back at FW right now chilling out and will leave tomorrow AM.

Next year????? Maybe 5K, 10K, 1/2M, full M, full M, 1/2M, 10K, 5K......and maybe NOT!!!! :rotfl:

Palindrome McFlurry John

You are amazing. I can't believe you did all you did and with a bum knee.

Thanks for my bday gift it was very thoughtful and cute.

Hope we get a chance to meet up before we both leave in the morning.

Next year I don't think I am up for goofy but will at least be Donald or Mickey. I actually want to try and do princess half in 2016 as well. Must tick off the races in the book.

Congrats.

John,

What a great accomplishment.

Please SLEEP IN when you get home. You make me tired just reading all your early up-and-at-em times. :lmao:

Congrats John!!! :cheer2:
you are an inspiration to us all (not that I'm inspired enough to try it myself):lmao:

Wow! is all I can say. Not being a runner, I really don't know what to compare this to. It seems pretty Herculean and a little bit crazy. I like it! :thumbsup2
