Marathon Weekend 2027

Ok, to all of you who have SCF secured bibs. If you are online on regular registration day, please send me your links as soon as you get in. I always get “more than an hour” wait times. 🤣
I still have to try to get a Dopey bib for DS on reg day but we're both going to have browsers going so I'll hopefully have links to share.

To be fair, the expensive room categories at BW already have at least 1 night missing too.

You should be fine with either OKW (not near hospitality house category) or SSR.

Thanks. I figured but its moot now. Decided to rent from someone off of DIS who does 50% time of reservation so decided to go ahead get my reservation secured now. So OKW studio is booked.

I cannot believe I’m typing this, considering that I swore off any more marathons after my 7th, and haven’t even run a half in more than a year (though I’ve got PHM coming up for a good mind-and-body-check), but…

… I think I’m considering Goofy.

Why?!?! I don’t even like Goofy as a character. I’ve never done it on its own - only as part of Dopey. Long training runs through FL summer and hurricane season is not something I miss. My bad knee acts up regularly and is not at all fun to run on when it does. I can’t find a pair of shoes that doesn’t hurt my feet when I get into double digit mileage.

And yet… yep. Seriously considering it. #ITSACULT!!! :rotfl:

Had not caught this at first but POT range for W&D is 1/1/2024-6/1/2026. Would guess they tag on a couple of months for MW, so we’re potentially looking at August 1 or September 1 at the latest.

No changes to how the 5k paces are handled as of now. Hope we eventually get some answers on how they’ll handle that day!

Good morning RunDisney All-Stars! It's time for today's Sundays Are For Disney (SAFD) question. One of our favorite things to talk about is when we like to go to Disney and what we like to do when we're there. Let's change that up a bit this week. Is there a time (or event) that you haven't been to Disney that you'd like to experience that you haven't had a chance to?

SAFD: I've never had a chance to attend the Epcot Festival of the Arts. I always see the booths set up and ready to go during Marathon Weekend, but it's never worked out to stay long enough to see the festival itself. I'm not a huge art connoisseur, but I do like to have some pieces around the house. The Art of Disney stores in the parks have been cut back over the years and their selection was limited, at the best of times. I'd love to see the artists and their Disney interpretations on a larger scale. I picked up this piece at Marathon Weekend this year:

SAFD: I'm going to be completely unoriginal and agree 100% with @camaker and @The Expert and choose Festival of the Arts. I've also been going to WDW long enough that I've been there for all the other festivals, holidays etc but it's never lined up for this one. Also, for some reason I've seen a lot more online about this year's Festival than in other years so I'm getting a little FOMO.

I've already started thinking about maybe getting down to Epcot for a couple of days during the festival next year. If I get into W&D on Tuesday I'm probably going to pull the trigger on an annual pass and my sister now lives 2 hours away so I can justify the trip as "visiting family" 😂
