Marathon Weekend 2017!

Good morning and Happy New Year, runDisney all-stars!

We are mere days away from the kickoff of marathon weekend. Time for one last Sundays are for Disney question:

WHO'S READY??

I hope everyone has a great race(s) and that I get to meet some of you down in Florida.

Happy New Year, everybody! We had a great day yesterday at MK, great fireworks.

I am ready like, all stuff is packed, we are already here in Orlando and so on.

According to my trainingsplan, I should be ready, "only" missed two weeks because of sickness.

But mentally? There is fear, there is excitement, there is ..., ah ********, I am ready

Forgive me going outside the Disney universe for this one, but:

I am not running any races this weekend, but I really want to drive up to Disney and go to the expo on Wednesday. It takes me a little less than 3 hours to drive there. I probably have better things to do, but I am not working Wednesday and I love the expos! I am planning on running the marathon next year.

I was planning on using Uber to get from CBR to the Poly at 8:30 for a breakfast ADR the morning of the half marathon, but I just realized there will be road closures in effect at that time. Do you think I'll have any issues or should it be okay?

Interesting question. While I've used Uber before it has never been over a race weekend so not sure. Hopefully someone with experience with both will chime in. Most of the times I've been thinking of using them have been outside of the race times. I'll research a little if someone else doesn't jump in.

I forgot to mention this before.

MK holiday decorations will be up until Jan. 11th.
AK and DHS will have decor down by the 6th.
Epcot hasn't given a date for when they'll be down yet.

Resort decorations start coming down Jan 2nd.

I'm ready for the half. The full will be an exercise in fun, photos, and friends as part of #TeamKeels (@Keels)

P.S. I think there should be one more "Sundays are for Disney" question next week. On Sunday evening, you can ask everyone how their marathon weekend went.

Mandatory dance breaks, boozes, fries, potentially defeating the Yeti, surviving an elevator drop and beating those balloons.

We arrived yesterday! Weather is great, Epcot was so quiet this morning. Really looking forward to runners arriving!

I was going to head to Epcot this morning because the wait times looked awesome, but the husband wanted some couple time at World of Beer. I'll probably head out for Fantasmic! and Illuminations tonight!

Finished up Sign 1 this morning, looked weird with no color (Nick looked like Bolt with a shirt/tie), so I colored it and sealed it with a matte finish (had it on hand so why not). Will put a green Mickey head on there somewhere. Sign 2 idea is gelling, just need it to manifest.

That's an interesting change with DHS and AK. I know they had them up until at least Saturday last year because I have a photo in front of the AK tree after the half.

Different note, someone posted they aren't doing pre sales anymore for Dooneys. Which at least explains the lack of that if true. Don't really mind since that should turn away some of the Ebay resellers but just an interesting choice.
