So I only had to look at the 1/2 medal like 5 times or so to realize the Roman numerals for 20, XX, we in the background. I really like the medals.

While I totally agree with the advice, I love the idea of telling someone going to Disney World to stick to their normal diet before the race.

You've nailed my December training table plans! New England clam chowder, ice cream sundaes and rice krispie treats the night before all my long runs. Maybe toss in a few frozen apple juice's with marshmallows for post-run hydration while I'm at it.

Thanks - just went to the facebook site. You can blow up the presentation to full page and get a much better look at them. I like them - very different from the ones that I already have.

I agree much different look. Especially the half medal.

I really like the 5K metal medal too! Can't wait to earn 6 of those.

Love the marathon and Goofy medals. I'm undecided on Donald. I was hoping for another spinner just because I have spinner from the 20th marathon medal and 10th Goofy, but I do like how different it is from previous medals. I'll still be happy to get them no matter what!

I feel like this is really early for a medal reveal.

The first couple years I was running they were unofficially revealed at the Disneyland Half on their display of medals for future races, but this is earlier than the last couple years.

Love the marathon and Goofy medals. I'm undecided on Donald. I was hoping for another spinner just because I have spinner from the 20th marathon medal and 10th Goofy, but I do like how different it is from previous medals. I'll still be happy to get them no matter what!

There appears to be a little pin-like connector in the middle of that medal. I can't say for sure that it spins, but I wouldn't rule out the idea entirely. ETA: I thought the white was negative space at my first look, but it looks to be solid. I've got no idea what's going on with that medal.


Overall, I am excited to add them all to the collection. I will reserve judgment until I see some closer views and get an idea of scale, but they are much different than the most recent medals so I am excited that rD appears to be trying some new things.

Actually they are pretty much on time. Looking at past reveals runDisney tends to show the new medals at about 3-4 months to race date. And we are 3 1/2 months out approximately from the start of the 5k. So the reveal is right on target.

As for the medals love the 5k and the full. First impressions of the half is that it looks neat (I do like the Roman numerals). Will be interesting to see it in person.

Honestly don't like the half medal at all so not to sad I'll be eating that registration fee..

Run a race at Disneyland/get coast to coast
Stay at the Boardwalk or Poly

I like the marathon medal a lot. Sort of a throwback to the older marathon medals.

NYE at Magic Kingdom (which I will get to cross off after this trip!)
Club 33
Halloween at WDW (all ready done at Disneyland)
Get married at WDW (hey a girl can dream)
Stay at Poly
Stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge and do one of their safari tours
Eat at Victoria and Alberts once
Do the Kesel Run challenge

The medals do give a vintage feel off. Except for maybe the Goofy and Dopey medals.

ETA: Wait Dopey reopened again? Isn't this like the fourth time in the last two weeks or something?

Thank you, Ryan!! So I love the 5K medal and the fact that it's no longer rubber, particularly because our youngest has been waiting forever for a chance to earn a "real medal." He misses the 10K age minimum by two days, but he will finally get his "real medal" for running the 5K! I was thrilled to hear about this change and was hoping it applied to Marathon Weekend - yay!!!

The 10K looks like a cog in a machine, but OK. I'm not sure what I think about the half - I really like the colors and it's interesting. Just different. Not crazy about the marathon medal (I like my 2015 marathon medal much better) and Goofy is OK (seems like a lot going on there.) The good news is that I love the Dopey medal. During the Glass Slipper Challenge, I learned that clanking of medals drives me nuts and I will only wear one at a time. So if all goes well, I'll just be wearing the Dopey anyway!
