Marathon Weekend 2017!

Oh, I bet! Arkansas cold is pretty close to Florida cold. We went in November last year and were seriously freezing one morning! I pack everything, just in case!

I wear shorts no matter what. I'm in Florida I'm going to wear shorts. Florida cold to me is warmer than Wisconsin cold.

Are you in Arkansas? That's where I am and it is supposed to be 20 tonight. To those northern people that might not seem that cold but to me it is crazy cold! :)

Dropping by to post this here for anyone doing multiple races in 2017. Looks like the medal might be this :)

ughhh....they are definitely fidling with the bib number site because I am now seeing a "broken" layout on the mobile website: wdw.xacte.com

Note there are variations on the address and they look different on mobile vs desktop:

wdw.xacte.com
results.xacte.com/?kw=wdw
results.xacte.com/?kw=wdw&x=dude

btw, if you type: results.xacte.com/?kw=wdw on a mobile site, it redirects the page to: wdw.xacte.com

I hope they are out soon, but i doubt my corral will change much from last year's D, even with a 3 minute improvement that I had in my POT.

So who's not looking forward to those temperatures next week? This guy! Oh and 2-4 inches of snow on Saturday with the possibility for more on Sunday and Monday. Looks like the treadmill will be my friend.

The Coast 2 Coast medal is friggin amazing. :lovestruc

Agreed!

Ahhhh agreed. Right now I'm *assuming* it'll be warm but I am definitely bringing cold-weather options!

I agree with the "bring everything" advice. I usually pack very very light, but this is definitely not the time for that!

I looked at that once and have not looked at it again since. It still says "8" on Wednesday, doesn't it? I'm planning all treadmill runs from this point forward. Really don't want to risk snow, ice, frozen toes (once I get one, it's not going away until June.) Loved the half I ran on Sunday, but not taking any more chances. I've done three 20-mile runs on the treadmill over time so what's one more?

Can't believe it, we submitted our race transfers on Monday and just got a confirmation email that my refund had been processed! I was expecting this to take weeks!
Now I'm beyond annoyed...I submitted my transfer request on 11/14/16, which they later confirmed that they received. Just called runDisney AGAIN and told them I want my refund tomorrow...fingers crossed or someone is getting screamed at tomorrow...

Wednesday looks like the only day I'd be questionable about. I'd much rather run outdoors and be cold for the first mile than run even a mile on the treadmill.

Right there with you, I've been calling and emailing and am getting no where.

Looks like I know my costume for the Marathon. Something that seems to scare a bunch of you...I will be dressed as a Treadmill.

Do it! I have zero coordination on a treadmill (and not much on solid ground for that matter). If I'm not watching my feet or grabbing the rail, I'll get tripped up and eat it. So that...for more than a mile...no thanks. Bring on the cold. You warm up after the first couple miles anyway.

And that's the "high" (?!?!?!).... The morning temp is -7F with a wind chill of -22F. I've run in sub -20F once. It was NOT a pleasant experience. I'm hoping for a slight warm-up. I personally took advantage of what I considered the last reasonable day (tonight) with temps at 11 and no snow on the ground. Hoping that today's run will carry me through the remainder of the training which will have significant slow downs due to temp and snow on ground (SOG). Best of luck fellow northerners!

Yeah so do not want to run in that. I think I will definitely be on a treadmill that day. The rest of the days I can probably make it work. Thursday is also iffy for more. I prefer to not run in anything 25 and below. Best of luck to you and the rest of the northerners as well!
