Last year for the 10k I carried my phone the entire time. I plan to do the same for the half this year.Thoughts on carrying a camera during the run? I'd rather not drain the battery on my phone but I'm just curious on what everyone has done.![]()

That's what my mom really wanted.@dancingtodisney I agree, can't believe there isn't a crossbody option!![]()
If also suggest if anyone is worried about battery life in the parks get a portable charger. They are literally the best thing for the parks. I have two of them now. Many just fit your pocket with your phone. No worrying about a dying phone.I just carry my phone. I don't listen to music while I run at Disney so my battery doesn't have much issue making it for the duration of any of the races. I also head back to my room after finishing and am able to charge the battery, if needed, before heading out again. So I guess it boils down to how long you will be relying on your battery before having access to a charge as well.
Ran 20 miles this morning and it felt great! SO happy to cross that milestone. Here is the Strava link if you are interested. Got to the river just at sunrise so I included some photos, but I'm not sure if you can see them without being a member.
Great run! Awesome pictures too...Washington must be a great place to run!Ran 20 miles this morning and it felt great! SO happy to cross that milestone. Here is the Strava link if you are interested. #1 thing I wish I'd have known: that it eats up more time and energy to constantly be trying to weave around people than to just go the speed dictated by the person in my way for a few more seconds until an opening appears that requires no more than a small sidestep to pass through. HUGE difference in my race experience after learning thatWhat's one thing (or more) that you wish you had known before your first runDisney race?
^ THIS x1000! This Floridian was mocked for wearing a down jacket to the Princess 5K this year... guess who was nice and toasty all morning, though?!PREPARE FOR ANY AND ALL WEATHER POSSIBILITIES. NO, SERIOUSLY, I MEAN IT.
I'm sure it depend son your phone, but I don't carry anything beyond my iPhone 6. I turn off Wi-Fi and Cellular Data when running, and I run both music and iSmoothRun. I turn off the display. I ran it a total of 5:45:00 the other day and only went down to 65% battery; I'd have had plenty to complete 26.2 and take some pics!Thoughts on carrying a camera during the run? Oh, I had more things to add. LOL.
I run all races with a battery phone case. And if I'm being honest, I need this battery case whenever I'm at Disney anyway! LOL. My bf says that draining batteries is my super power.
As for things to buy at the expo, my new thing to collect from the races are the race-specific magnets and more times than not I come home with a tech jacket.![]()

Along the same lines, if music is important to you and you use wireless/Bluetooth headphones ... BRING A SPARE SET WITH YOU!
It's all fun and games until your headphones die at mile 9 and you don't have any backups.
I about died when I lost one of the silicone thingys on my headphones just as the DLH was starting. So pissed.
I think @mbwhitti and I have established our three main goals: Beat the balloon ladies, ride Everest and then grab a cocktail for the finish line somewhere in the World Showcase.
@DopeyBadger - thanks for that!

If any of y'all see two gals wearing these shirts and having more fun than should be legal for a marathon, say hey! It's probably us!

No problem. That reminds me, anyone in pink under the "EVEREST" milestone is reaching Animal Kingdom after the park is open and thus could theoretically ride Everest. However, I didn't put anyone else in pink earlier than 9am because I wasn't sure how much earlier than 9am Everest would start.
