I did my 3 miles today and did it in 59:30
No pain!! YEAH!!
Don't have much time today to post, but did want to do the question of the day for ya- so..... here it is!
Q- Can't I just run shorter distances faster, then slow down and go longer on race day?
A- No, the body does not work that way. In order for your body to make the endurance fuel supply cahnges necessary for road race distances, you need the long slow runs. An occasional race won't hurt, but most of your training should be focused on the completing the long slow runs.
Ah heck...... I can't resist.....
Getty- WELCOME! We've been posting this thread on a weekly basis for the past 2 months or so- you can gets lots of info juts by reading those threads if you'd like! Have you started any kind of training at all??
Tigerlily- Those signs are up every mile I think. I'm planning on taking a very small camcorder with me on my run so I can take video of my first EVER run! I'm taking pics at all those signs too! I don't care if it slows me down! It may be the ONLY time I ever do this! And I want PROOF!!!!

I alkso wanted to say one last thing-- AS I was walking on the treadmill this morning, I was thinking how glad I was that we have this thread. It would've been really easy for me this past week to just give up and stop walking when that injury occured. As it is my body feels so weak- and my first response is to just sit down and quit. But I really wanted to post here and needed to have something to say- so I kept walking! Thanks all- you do a good job of keeping me in check!
