Marathon Relay Question

DH and I noticed today that as part of our race instructions, it says to we need to pick up our bibs, bags, and relay BATON....do you guys really think they are going to make us run 13 miles carrying a baton?

It's probably a "ceremonial" thing that you do not have to actually carry.

At the W&D Relay they advertised the same thing. The "batons" were actually miniature rolling pins embossed w/the W&D Logo. Kinda' cute actually, but no, you absolutely were NOT required to actually carry them.

I am ASSUMING the situation here is the same. I'll find out for sure in a few days.

I did a marathon relay in Akron and the "baton" was a slap bracelet...straight outta the 80s!

Maybe this time it'll be an acorn?!

Ha ha...the slap bracelet I could live with! Hopefully, it is just a souvenir type thing bc I really don't want to carry a baton the whole time!
