Marathon Monday - Is there always one?

With the park ticket increase coming tomorrow I'm planning on purchasing my tickets today. I want 5 day tickets so do I only need to buy a 4 day one for me since I can get MK on Monday for free?

No. As far as I know, it was only offered in 2011.

Marathon Monday was a once and done ting. THey offered it in 2011 in an attempt to sell out the race. It was really poorly thought out since it was announced late - leaving many folks unable to use the pass, they failed to offer it to the half runners creating ill will and there was nothing allowed for their true heavy users - the annual pass holders. He sad thing is that I believe the offer cost them more than additional revenues made. I am sure the incentive grabbed a limited number of folks and may have caused some to stay Monday - creating revenue for a room reservation. The real fact is that not many folks changed plans to take advantage of the free pass so they essentially gave the pass away to folks who were about to purchase a pass for Monday.
