Marathon 2009 clothing

Listen guys!!! You should by the stuff when you see it!!
The shirt said, "I did it", not "I finished it" !!!

As long as you started it - you did it!!

Plus, as merchandise goes, you never know if there will be any left when you decide to go back or what they will do with it. Same goes for park merchandise, sometimes an item will only be at one park and not at Downtown Disney at the WOrld of Disney.

Thanks guys I will know better for the future. Actually now I know I can do it and I actually did it so I won't feel wierd about buying a shirt like that in future. I know I am wierd.

I did see the shirt on Ebay but I am not paying the price it was going for. I will go without first!!

I didn't buy my shirt either but did get one on ebay for about the same price as one in Disney. The $3 shipping was reasonable. I'm glad I was able to get it. Keep checking ebay, they might have one come up.

I was concerned about the mojo, but didn't want to risk not getting the "I Did It" shirt...I missed out at the DL 1/2 last year (because I didn't want to get an I finished item before I finished) so I didn't want that to happen for the full.

I'm with you. A friend who has done a marathon in 32 states (33 happens next month) won't wear any race gear until he finishes. He calls it bad JuJu. He (and I guess I) look at the free shirts as finisher's shirts. I have run a few races that don't give you the shirt until you've finished.

Not so weird -- I feel the same way. When I did the first DL 1/2, I didn't get an "I did it!" shirt because, well, I hadn't done it, and then couldn't find one afterwards. The second year, I figured I'd buy it ahead of time since, like you, I knew I could do it and actually had done it. Even so, I made my sons hide it and promise not to give it to me until I had the finisher's medal on. If I hadn't finished that time, I was planning on giving the shirt to goodwill or something, and totally woud have blamed my DNF on bad juju from buying that shirt.

I'm also with BamaEd on this -- I always thought it was bad juju (and inapprorpiate race etiquette) to wear the race shirt prior to the race. A few years ago when we were down for the race, it was much colder than I'd expected and the only long-sleeve shirt I had was my race shirt, and I still refused to wear it, despite the cold. Which, of course, forced me to (a) buy an over-priced WDW sweatshirt at the park and (b) admit my husband was right about me being nuts and that I should have risked angering the race gods and just worn the darn shirt.

Even though, intellectually, I know better, superstition is a tough thing to overcome. Makes people wonder how I ended up adopting a black kitten...

Just advice for next year.... you can always return merchandise to ANY Disney store.

So buy it and return it to someplace if you don't finish.

(I still bet some of it shows up at the outlet mall, if you live there keep watching.. Past years stuff has, I have some of it to train in LOL!)

Last night in Team Mickeys at DTD they had 1/2 and goofy tee shirts.

Thanks - of course they don't have the shirt I want. But that is great that they have this merchandise available.
