maraschino cherries

I can use a whole jar in one cup of soda! I pour the juice down the drain.

I love maraschino cherries! I'm a huge fan of the monster Costco jars! I shouldn't admit this but. . . um. . . I like them with cottage cheese and then I pour the juice on top. It's so embarassing. :sad2:

It's odd, I love everything cherry flavored but cant stand to eat maraschino cherries... I much prefer the real thing. But I do love Sherly Temples!

My parents used to put a jar of cherries in my Christmas stocking. I'm a grandma now and I miss those cherries! Heck I miss the stockong! When I buy a jar for pineapple upside down cake, I usually eat the cherries before I get to make the cake. Now I buy 2 jars. I sometimes put some of the juice in my Pepsi.

My mom used to make a vanilla cake and add a bit of the juice to it, chop up some of the cherries add that to it and then some chopped walnuts and bake.

She would then take the remaining juice and add it to confectioners sugar to make pink frosting for the cake, decorate with more cherries and nuts. This is what my brother always got for his birthday cake in June. Mine was always chocholate with chocolate frosting and nuts.

I made this cake a few years ago for a barbque and served it with vanilla ice cream and it was a hit.

You can add to fluffernutter and make a dip, add it to whip cream for a quick easy frosting

Sheen Estives to Jimmy Neutron: "Maraschino is the guy that invented Radio".

I like them, but prefer the real deal: fresh cherries. :thumbsup2

Hmmm, that sounds very interesting. :scratchin

YUMMMMMMMYYY I simply drink the juice.. :rotfl: I can eat a whole jar of them in one day. Get a bowl of them, juice included, and put a teaspoon or so of lemon juice. SOO goood.

I once ate an entire jar of the things and then drank the juice. What can I say, I was a teenager.

I do have to tell my story about the first time I tried almond cookies and got excited because they tasted just like maraschino cherries... only to find out that maraschino cherries actually are flavored with almond so it's really the other way around
they are??? wow, learn something new everyday... another thing my dd can't eat i guess.

i like to make sangria with the cherries and juice. put it in the wine, add some orange and lime slices, yummy!

I'm not a big fan, but I do like to chop them up and add them to chocolate chip cookies (along with coconut) at Christmas!
