From T.O. with an 8 yo DD? Me too. Where abouts in the city are you? My DD Alyssa is an only child as well. She never has a problem making friends on the ship, but it would be nice to be able to continue a friendship back home. We are in the east end so maybe, if you're interested we can set up a meet and great or something. Feel free to PM Me.

Hi there!... Yes I'm on the FB group but don't do facebook much...I do get alerts when someone replies and I read them...

We used to live in TO but moved to Missisauga a couple of months ago..our house in TO (Don Mills area) was too small and bigger ones cost a fortune in the city so we decided to move... we're in the 407/Hurontario area...
If you are around the area on a weekend pre trip shoot me a PM and we'd love to have you over for a coffee or a drink so the girls can meet... My DD is already so excited (as am I)

If not, we should get the girls to meet at the lab or somewhere else and let them go from there... Would be nice to meet you too around the ship sometime as well.. I will contact you via PM closer to the trip to give you our names and SR# so you can reach us on the ship if you want...

Wish there was more activity on here..

I wanted to sign up to private mixology classes and the meetups on board but I h8 doing it thru FB because...I just basically h8 FB... i have co-workers, family and other creatures on FB who I don't want them to see what I'm doing on my private time...the other day some client who i have on FB said 'ooohh your going on a cruise for 1 week?...what will happen to the xyz product I need you to do xyz on...?'....urggg.... how can people like FB is beyond me... I just use it to make sure ppl I know are still alive...

Anyways...will keep watching this thread hoping it'll liven up a bit....

If you would like, I can put your names on the mixology class for you. And don't quote me, but because the face book group is a private group I don't believe your friends will see posts you post in that group. (I could be wrong).

I hear ya...and that's what runied FB for me, when clients, co workers and the like started requesting to be added...you see their 'friend' requests and if you don't add them, when you see them or talk to them they go like, I sent you a request on FB, did you see it? I'm like... ...

SMH....some people are way too intrusive..

But... since I learned about this group of ours, it's the first time in like 6 months I've been on FB...I do this now everyday to check on things...

While at the mall today I went into the Disney Store... just getting a little fix by looking around. Nabbed some sweet new jammies...
Wishing our CDA $ would rise a few pennies before sail date... if not oh well, we are going to have fun irregardless!

We are keeping our cruise a secret from the kids, so I haven't joined the FB group. The less people who know, the better. I don't want our surprise ruined. I'm too paranoid.

Hi there fellow DCLers... Long time lurker of this forum, decided to 'come out' and start posting more..

I (DH) along with DW and DD (8) will be going on this cruise... Our fourth DCL , 4th year in a row, b2b on the Fantasy.
Just added me to the FB group as well...

Our ship sails in exactly 60 days from today...wahoo!
I'm from Toronto and I'm open to meet others from here on the cruise..

My DD who is 8 loves the DCL and always has a blast with her (ahem) cool DDad doing all kinds of activities on board (we have an aquaduck record to break this time around: 25)...she spends countless hours at the kids labs which she loves..but since she's an only child she sometimes finds herself a bit bored with her cool parents.. So...

If some of you also have an only child with you on this cruise, feel free to contact me so we can maybe set up a play date for our kids...

In past cruises I've found many 1 kid families and i've always thought they'd have so much more fun if somehow they hooked up with other kids their age

I am in awe of your AquaDuck record...... we are first dining, and hope she will be interested in heading to the club after supper ( the CMs from the club come get them?). Has your girl done this? Curious to hear how that works...

Hi Wanda...we are on the 2nd MDR and CMs do walk around the dining room grabbing kids who signed up...this is our 4th cruise...we've always been on 2nd rotation as it allows for a more relaxing day, lots of time on the pool/aquaduck during 1st MDR when ppl are dining, shows, etc.
I highly recommend 2nd dining but many prefer 1st as smaller kids are often very tired to go have dinner late.

Maybe before the deck party? after the deck party...what have you done before if you have cruised before that worked? One that can include everyone... parents and kiddos?(Posted on FB as well.. just looking for feedback from everyone!

Great idea. Our 11 year old son would love to meet another Edge kid. This will be his first time in the tween club, so it would be especially nice to have someone to check it out with.

Meet and Greet on Day 1 from 2:30-3:30 at Family Wading Pool on Deck 12 forward. Everyone welcome! Great place for kids to get to know one another too. Can someone ask their teen to post this on the teen board?
