I printed out maps of the Disney parks from the WDW website. However, they're VERY small and don't have things like quick service dining, tip boards, etc. Denise posted a link to a map on another post (http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/MGM.htm) and it was the perfect map. However, it's so big that I can't shrink it down to print on one page. I can't split it to print on two pages either.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to print good maps like this?

We leave in 6 days for our first trip and I'm trying to finalize the last minute stuff so we can at least know where we're going.

You need to have "photo" software on your computer that will allow you to adjust the image size of a file before printing.

There are several available on line for download.

I would just have a good idea of where you're going and get down to specifics once you have a real map in your hands. You'll be able to get them as soon as you get to your hotel if you're staying onsite, or when you get to the parks.

On your first day, I think you just need to know what park you're getting to, what time you want to arrive, and what you're going to sprint for at RD, if that's your touring strategy. Otherwise, everything else will be able to be decided/looked up on a map later.

ETA - the maps that you linked to are the same ones I have printed in my planning folder. If you right click it and save the photo, then print it out to fit on regular letter sized paper, it's small, but you'll still be able to read it and have some general knowlege of location.

Do you have Word? Most people do, so here's quick and easy instructions.
1. Go to the map at the link you provided.
2. Right click the map to copy it.
3. In Word, click File, Page Setup...
4. Under the Margins Tab, click Landscape
5. Under the Paper Tab, select Legal from the drop down list (assuming you have legal size paper, if you don't pick whatever size paper you're using)
6. Paste the map... yes it'll be too big, but we'll fix that.
7. Left click the map. A black border will appear around it. Grab one of the corners of the border (left click and drag) and re-size the map to fit.
8. You can also play with the page margins to print a bigger map if your printer will allow it. The margins are under File, Page Setup...

Hope that does it for ya. :goodvibes

Thanks so much. I actually was able to do it with my scrapbook program. I copied, cropped the map to make it the full page and printed the words, etc on the second page. It was much easier since it was bigger.

These maps were great because they showed the restaurants, etc and not just rides.

These are the maps they have at the entrance to every park and your resort will have them too if you're staying on site. So don't worry too much about printing them out perfectly yourself. Look at them now to get an idea and then get some nice ones in each park! Enjoy your trip! :goodvibes
