I've never stayed off site before and need to book 2 nights off site for Dec 20th and 21st.
We'll need transportation to and from the parks and hoping for airport shuttle too but we if that's not possible we can figure something else out.
Is there a map somewhere that shows hotels that are super close to Disney?

Unfortunately, outside of the Disney resorts, none of the Disney-area hotels are going to provide free airport transportation. For a map, your best bet is probably to use an online travel agency (OTA). Most will have a map feature. When searching, try using "Lake Buena Vista" as the city. If you find a hotel you like, be certain to search for prices on their own official website. They might be offering a better deal than the OTA.

Here is an example from Orbitz. Note that once you open the map, you can drag it around to view different areas.

In you're not familiar, there are 7 hotels located adjacent to Disney Springs. These hotels are on Disney property but are owned and operated by outside companies. They provide continuous, scheduled transportation to the parks every 30 minutes. In the above map, they are the cluster of prices left of I-4 near the top ($169, $147, $118). Here is a map of those hotels in relation to Disney Springs.

Note: The Buena Vista Palace is currently under a full-scale renovation until (at least) October 2015.

Holy cow! What an amazing response! Thank you so much for taking the time to type that all out. Just...wow!
This really should be a sticky, I imagine lots of people new to staying off site would find this info SO helpful!
Now, I just have to choose which one.
We're taking Magical Express to our AoA from the airport so I think we'll just do Uber or a taxi to the airport at the end of the trip.
I guess we'll have to do that when we move hotels too since we'll have luggage.
I'd love to stay on site the whole time but with 5 of us, it's just too expensive. I added 7 day tickets to our 4 night stay at AoA and we'll have to pay oop for food for a few days but it's still so much cheaper

Not sure if this will help but whenever I book a Hilton Hotel (usually Hilton Garden Inn or Embassy Suites) it will show me a map with the prices, much like what was posted above.

You're welcome. Some of my response was cut/paste from an older thread, so it wasn't a ton of work. One of the things on my "To Do" list is to compile all the information about the Disney Springs Hotels. Having all the info in one place might make things easier. I'll get it done eventually.

I don't use Uber, so I have no clue about cost. I checked out two different taxi estimator websites. They price the taxi to the airport between $46.87 and $53.06. That pricing is without traffic (and possibly without tolls).

Another option for the trip back to the airport is to get book a private car via Mears Transportation. Mears is the company that runs Disney's Magical Express. Currently, the cost for 5 people from one of the Disney Springs Hotels to the Orlando International Airport is $80.

If you book online via the Mears website (http://www.mearstransportation.com/), you can use promo code "WEB10" and save 10%.

I'm usually a "whatever is cheapest" guy when it comes to stuff like this. However, I'd probably pay the extra $20ish to book a private car/van with Mears. That way, you don't have to worry about traffic and you'll have a professional driver.
