We are taking our 1st ever cruise for 4 days on DCL, Wonder Dec. 7, 2003. We have many questions, but for now I just wonder if you have any important tips we should know. I have searched the web and printed off some tips and ideas, but thought maybe you guys being veterans and Disney nuts, maybe you would have some good advice on how to relax and enjoy ourselves. We're not big spenders or drinkers, but we do like Disney lot. We go to WDW about twice a year. Will there be enough for us to do during the days and evenings?

Thank you in advance for any advice or info. Also we're staying in Level 10 (don't know if that's good or not), room 5520.

You will have plenty to do. I worried about being on a boat for 4-days with no much to do. I was completely wrong. There was tons of things to do, yet you could just relax if you wanted. You will get the navigator each night that will tell you everything available for your entertainment. Don't miss the shows!

I am staying in that very same cabin in October...It is a special room because it has a secret porthole(slight obstruction)...supposedly this is a good deal because a porthole is a Category 9 which is more expensive...so congrats! There are only a couple of rooms available with the secret porthole.

As far as what to do on the ship....Lot's of fun stuff going on all day and well into the night. Check out this web site: http://www.castawayclub.com there are all kinds of things to read about and there is even a picture of your room, 5520.

Good Luck and if I can answer any more of your questions please e-mail me :)

My most important tip would be to READ the Navigators! Our first time cruising we thought we read the Navigator and did so much. Then we got home and really read the Navigtors and found out what we missed!
And, of course, don't miss Disney Dreams!!!

Have a WONDERful cruise.

There was so much to do on our cruise last January. We were trying to see and do it all. Finally on last sea day I told DH that I was not doing anything all day but sit on deck and read. That is exactly what I did! There are all kinds of things to do but you aren't 'required' to do any of it. That is what I really liked about cruising.

For the evenings there is the piano bar, the dance club, and the comedy club. The comedy club is usually open for 'family' time earlier in the evening then the later show is more 'adult'. Studio Sea always has family actitivites going on in the eveng too.

Check out past Navigators on Barb and Dave's sites for a preview of what is available.

We'll be on that cruise with you (four adults, DH, me, DS, DDIL and a then 3 1/2 year old DGD). We cruised the same week this year, and we loved it. We're not big spenders and we're not drinkers, but there's always plenty to do, including doing nothing if that's what you choose! I spent a lovely two hours on our afternoon in Nassau on one of those comfortable blue chairs on deck 4 reading.

I can't wait to go back!

Take a highlighter with you so you can highlight the things on the Navigators that you want to do.
