Went on Manta last Saturday for the first time with my family. The ride stopped during the assent and eventually they had to manually remove us from our seats. Does this happen often?

I think so. Has happened a few times when we have been in the park.

Actually that was the first official lift evac. although we have had many other evacs not involving the lift. We do occasionally stop the lift and the ride chooses to stop the lift for a safety reason. Hope it wasn't too much of a hassel. It persanally wore me out!!!

So congrats as we say in the operation business, this was our first officia lift evac. Unplanned and caught us off guard.

It wasn't too bad, but for a 55 year old it was a bit uncomfortable. Your group who came out to assist did a great job. Thanks for the water! It was quite a while before we actually saw anyone after it stopped. I thought that was strange. And I remember when "Walter" came out and walked in front of us he kind of shook his head as if he was thinking "oh sh$#". I remember saying "that's not good". Pretty funny to think about it now because everyone was trying to put all of us at ease and Walter who looked to be an exec didn't convey that. Thanks again to you and your coworkers for doing a fine job. I will be writing to Sea World about the whole ordeal and will put in a good word for you.

Sorry didn't pay attention to where it stopped. Every time I have seen them evacuate people it is near the load unload area. Looked harry even to get them out there.

LOL, so now Manta is "official!" My husband will be ticked that he missed it. He is trying to get 100 rides on Manta before Labor Day, but with it's somewhat erratic operation and the long lines, he is way behind schedule. He would have loved to experience an evac. He almost had one on Kraken...it was the train right before his, so he watched from the station as the people got walked down the hill. I'm sure Manta's evac is much more tricky.

Could someone tell me the size of people Manta can accomodate? Here in the UK we have Air at Alton Towers which is the same as Manta and someone in our group couldn't get the restraint to close down because of the design and the paddings around it....We came to Orlando last year and had no problem with any rides including Kraken. Any ideas???..

I would have been happy to swap with your husband(that didn't come out right:rolleyes1). I'm just happy it happened at the bottom of the lift as I have somewhat of a fear of hights. We did ride it the next day and as it was going up the ramp I just kept saying to myself "Please don't stop. Please don't stop." It didn't.:yay:

How are the lines been for Manta this past week - still pretty heavy except right at opening?

Hi
I am on the larger side of the scale and had no probs on Manta. There are NO larger seats on a specific row like other coasters but all seats appear to be a generous size.

Had a bit of a struggle on Air getting the restraint to lock but lots of room on Manta.

Have fun.
