Mansions or AB question

For people who have stayed at POR.....which section is less buggy and creepy crawlwy? Mansions or AB? I have heard AB is really more "rustic" and buggy etc....is that true? Thanks all!!!

I returned just the 13th from AB and we didn't see any bugs.

There are a lot of "critters" all over Florida... At WDW you will run into those little lizards just about everywhere, snakes, spiders, etc.

Ask for an upper floor to reduce your chance of finding a lizard outside your door, although we had them up on the top floor at Pop Century, LOL!

I thought the mansions bugs were more upscale, while the AB bugs had a more "Beverly Hillbillies" quality.

Seriously, POR is great. Bugs live in Florida. Bugs aren't resort selective.

I do get that the bugs are not resort selective I read an old post where the OP said AB was much more buggy and froggie than the Mansions section....just curious if others thought that to be true......just curious.....I know Florida has lizards and bugs etc...and from what I hear ONE BIG MOUSE!!!!

I get your question totally. I would guess (never been, going in 5 days!!!) that because of the landscaped areas surrounding the Mansions section it keeps the critters somewhat more at bay. Also less trees hanging overhead and such. Just a guess but I am requesting the Mansions for the manicured landscaping specifically. I am so not into rustic (but it is okay if others are so no flames please)

I live a mile from a canal wildlife preserve as well as a state park with huge fishing pond and lots of woods and such. They are both great but when I pull into my development I appreciate the time/money spent on manicured landscaping and upkeep! Give me a golf course look anyday.

okay, that said, if I see those critters outside I will not be thrilled but accepting of them, but please tell me they do not get into the rooms??!!

Stayed in AB last year. Didn't notice excessive buggage!

I agree with the other posters, the Mansions area has manicured landscaping, AB is sort of woodsy. For DW, I prefer the look of Mansions--it just seems more magical to me.

We are going to request Mansions.....it is our anniversary (9 years married) and I think the Mansions give off a more romantic feel.....plus I am not that into the whole rustic look....I am waaaaay to girlie!! ha ha ha! Thanks for the replies...MUCH appreciated!!!

We've stayed in both sections, and those little lizard critters are everywhere no matter where you stay. There are also cute bunnies that frequent both sections of POR.

We didn't notice many bugs at POR.
