just got back from a weekend trip to WDW. Seen guys wearing Manpri's...what's the point...can't decide if you want to wear shorts or long pants?:confused3

It's not a good look...especially when paired with a white wife-beater tank top, and your hat turned sideways...

in fact...most folks need to leave the tank tops at home :scared1: my eyes!!!

My DS wears them all the time--and DH would wear them if he could find a pair he likes in his size.
They like them for the same reasons I do--they are cooler than shorts but you can sit down without having the backs of your thighs touch whatever it is you are sitting on. Some long "shorts" have the same effect, but they tend to just look baggy and oversized and not "neat and clean cut" like a capri.
I think a "wife beater" (hate that term--can't there be a name for the style that doesn't degrade those who like it?) style tank top would NOT look neat or clean cut:lmao: and definitely ruin the look of the pants.

C'mon, if Ashton Kutcher wears them, they've GOT to be cool. ;)

Haha. OP, I'm with you. I think they're hideous.

Those have been around forever. I remember the guys in HS used to wear them. I think they were called jams way back when. I remember them being like bermuda shorts but longer. Usually funky colored or with large prints. I thought it was supposed to be "surf" look.

They always say things come and go back in style.

Sometimes its a matter of body proportion. DH and DS are long bodied/short legged (both over 6' but only have 29" inseams). They don't like to wear shorts at their waists either, but "lowslung". So boardshorts on them tend to look like manpris!

Had to look up manpris in the urban dictionary, just to check status of who is wearing them and this is what I came up with.....

3 definitions

1) Insanely comfortable surfing shorts that go past your knees.

2) The "manpri" is a rendition of the "capri" pants, but worn by metro sexual and eurotrash males. The "manpri" is usually, but not always paired with the "mank" a man tank. Please look up "mank".

3) Capri pants for men. Usually gay men.

(Now I have to look up mank):rotfl:

OK...looked it up and not what I expected. 6 pages of definitions and I use that term loosely.

Never heard of them before ...

Ya, they are ugly! :headache:

"Insanely comfortable surfing shorts that go past your knees".

My DS' surf 24/7 ... they do not own manpri's ... if they aren't surfing they usually have board shorts on ... like everyone else in Cali!

i think the OP is talking about men who wear insanely baggy shorts which are pratically the same length as pants. if that's the case, i agree, i think the look is terrible.

My DH has a pair. He swears they are the most comfortable things on the planet. I have mocked him mercilessly, but he loves them. They are denim and he wears them with a t-shirt. If you see him, I give you full permission to mock also. :thumbsup2:rotfl: They look much like this, but denim:
