Mannequins Gay nights?

I remember many years ago we visited PI and by chance found out that Mannequins had a "gay night".I remember this was nothing official and was quite mixed but didnt feel so out of place.Is this still correct and if so what night is it?Are there any other options at WDW?

I've been told by numerous people that Thursday evenings tend to be the unofficial gay cast member night. But you better hurry.......all the clubs are going to be closing late September.

I always laughed at the canned reply I'd give guests about this. When I was a door host at 8-trax people would occasionally ask me where the gay club was. My response was "There is no officially gay Disney club, but if you are looking for an atmosphere conducive to the gay crowd, Mannequins might be a good choice"

I remember it was thursday when I was there but that was about 8 years ago.Im visiting from Sept 13 so I hope everything will still be open

Agreed! I have a lot of memories of Thursday nights at Mannequins (and PI in general)

And Aprox how many Mall and shopping arcades are there in a 25 mil radius of WDW? Come on - call a spade a spade.

I'm heading to Disney next week and was interested to hear this about Mannequins. We're going with a fabulous gay couple and they wanted a night of dancing. We're going the week before labour day weekend. What time should we get there on the Thursday night to make sure we get in??

mannequins has a capacity of 1600 so I wouldn't worry about getting in. 8-trax only holds 400 so it can get packed but if you're in by 11 at 8-trax you should be ok.

I didn't make it to Mannequins because time was of the essence in October, the only time that I was at Disney World. A tourist magazine I subscribe to said that the night clubs at Pleasure Island were a response to the success of the nighttime entertainment in downtown Orlando. This is gong back to the 1989, near the same time that Las Vegas tried to become a family destination. I suspect that just as Las Vegas could not compete with Disneyland for family entertainment downtown Orlando and Walt Disney World might be more different than previously thought.

Even I was considering making an exception for Mannequins while at WDW though, and I am not a bar person. I never developed a taste for alcohol.
