Should my fingers & toes match? I like Red toes. I like a natural or french manicure on my hands because I am so rough on a manicure it chips. My nails need to last for my 8 day trip.

If I should match what should I do? I do not get very many manicures. :artist:

mine don't always match, but usually don't clash either.
Right now my fingers are bare, and I have a french pedicure on my toes.
I think the french look on the toes is very pretty in the summer.

Thanks. I also should say I am SUPER White %100 Irish. I will fake tan this weekend. Melanoma issues.

I never match my fingers to toes - I go lighter on the fingers and darker on the toes - but i just may try that french pedicure - i love the way it looks on my fingers so why not try the toes... :thumbsup2

I get manicures and pedicures all the time and I rarely match both. I used to work at Universal and they wouldn't allow us to have bright nail polish - so I usually did a light beige or pink on my nails and went flaming red on my toes since no one could see my toes. (even did blue once just to have fun).

Toes and fingers do NOT have to match!

Since you need it to last for an 8 day trip - I'd do a light color or French on the hands. I find that toe color lasts longer so pick what you'd like there. My favorite is OPI polish - Love the "I'm Not Really A Waitress" color!

Just had a pedicure this morning! :thumbsup2

I had the OPI Magnifico Mexico (a rich terra-cotta) color applied. For hands, I usually use that OPI clear Start to Finish.

Thanks for the replies. We are all getting pedicures for our trip tomorrow.

Naaa, as long as they look nice there is no need for them to match.

I have an apt for my first pedicure/manicure on June 28th. DS14, his friend and I leave for 6days in the NH White Mtns June 20th.

Manicurist here, very rare to have a client who matches fingers and toes anymore, with the exception of doing both french if you want the toes french. Many people will do french fingers and colored toes, but I have never done french toes with colored fingernails...go figure) It used to be the style to match colors, now it is an anything goes type of thing.

Most people can handle colors on their toes that they would never have on their hands, so I always suggest that people go with pedicure colors that they love but do not have the guts to have on their hands.

Above all else, have fun and enjoy the process! Very relaxing!

(and remember, if you want to leave with your own shoes on, it's best to bring flip flops, the kind where all of your toes are exposed. Also, I prefer to do the hands first because then they are good and dry before you leave, especially if you are driving.)

Very well put. I will put just about anything on my toes but not on my hands. :confused3

The hands first then toes makes very good sense. I'll have to tell my manucurist that next time.

I would do red on your toes and french manicure on your fingernails.

That's very popular. Or another bright color on the toes with a very pale muted color on your fingers. I probably wouldn't do hot pink on the toes with orange on the nails though. They don't need to match - just not clash horribly.

I love corals for toes, especially OPI Cajun Shrimp. I usually do a French manicure on my nails too.

The entire OPI summer collection is very popular this year. I say that because one of my biggest beefs with OPI is that each collection usually has aonly a few great colors and few off the wall butt UGLY colors that look good on no one! Every color in this collection is a hit, from what I have seen so far. But, I actually have OPI Red on my toes right now...I am so boring, LOL.

For the toes, mostly either really RED reds or bright corals are hot right now.

Another tip, if you have toe nails that tend to have deep ridges (light buffing can remove some, but some people just have toenals that have deep ridges) Not a problem, but stay away from metallics...metallics show ridges and the solid (non glittery/shimmery) colors hide them better.

LOL< that is my Tip O' the Day! :artist:

Cajun Shrimp is an awesome toe color, as is Cancun Fiesta.

I had some friends over and 3 or 4 of us had Cajun Shrimp on. Great color.
