I see that there is a restaurant at Shades of Green and am curious if you have to be staying there in order to eat there?

You don't have to be staying there to eat there--you will have to show ID to the guard at the gate for entry.

Honestly, it's an average-to-mediocre restaurant and not a destination restaurant, IMHO. If I were that close to the Poly I'd eat there.

It was one of our least favorite meals, I'm not a big fan of any food at SOG, we ate most of our close to resort meals at the poly on our recent stay.

Appreciate the responses, I just noticed they were on the Italian side and reasonably priced. But sounds like it isn't worth it.

it is open to the public.

It also is not all that. in fact it's on par with Olive Garden.. which I, as a grandchild of Italian immigrants, consider an insult and not even remotely actual Italian cooking.

We ate there last September and the food was fine, but I would NEVER travel to SOG to eat at ANY of their restaurants. Our experience is always all over the map and even if the food is decent, the atmosphere and service usually leave a lot to be desired. Only eat there if you are staying at SOG and need a conveniently located meal.

with the loss of Evergreen, the only thing worth eating there is the breakfast buffet. and that's because you serve yourself for the most part.

Its actually a major reason why any subsequent trips will not include a stay there any longer.. I'll go moderate or above from now on.

to us a major need is the ability to relax at a bar after a park day to share an appetizer or dessert and a drink or two is paramount
