Friday 4th August ~ Day 2
We were up at 7am (which was very good for us, as usually we are wide awake at 4.30am on the first morning), we had brekkie at the Pop, which was usually fruit cups, apple danish, croissant and choc chip muffin.
This was our first proper morning in WDW and that meant EPCOT !! We arrived around 8.30am, it wasnt too busy and they opened at 8.45am up to the rope drop. At 9am we legged it to Soarin, we rode it and got FPs for later.
Now the girls were meeting their best mates at 9.30am by SpaceShip Earth (they had already been there for over 2 weeks and were going home the following Tuesday). So after meeting them, the usual hugs and loads of photos, the girls all went off, and me and Paul were on our own.
Well we had a great time. We got FPs for Test Track, did Mission:Space, went back on Soarin, then did Test Track. We then walked up to World Showcase where I bought my purchase of the holiday ~ yes a pink cowboy hat, that had little Mickey head beads around the top (you will probably be sick of seeing it in all my photos throughout my report ~ LOL). So with hat on head we head to Mexico. We went to Norway and rode Maelstrom for the first time ever (cute), then we had lunch in China (twice cooked beef, Shanghai Chicken and pancake rolls ~ yummy !!). We stopped for a drink in the Rose and Crown (well you just have to, dont you ??) and had some Cadburys chocolate from the Tea Shoppe.
The girls walked by, so I took some photos near the pub and then with Alice in Wonderland and then they went off again. Paul and I had another ride on Test Track and left the park around 1.30pm to go for a sunbathe and swim. We had a sunbathe for about an hour, when suddenly the weather changed as a storm approached. It was so weird, one minute it was lovely and hot, and the next it went dark and it became really windy.
The girls friends parents dropped my two back to the Pop, with plans to meet later, and we set off to Wal-Mart to pick up supplies. So after our first shop of Lays chips, Diet Mountain Dew, Cookies, a large $15 cooler box for the room (there is no way were paying $10 a night to hire one) a smaller cool box for the car, a $5 clothes airer, suntan lotion, mozzie spray (Paul usually gets eaten alive) and our first t-shirts, we leave Wal-Mart with $150 put on our credit card.
After dropping off all the shopping, we took the bus to Epcot. We say goodbye to the girls and arrange to meet up outside the Rose and Crown at 9.30pm after IllumiNations. So Paul and I have a quick Smirnoff Ice in The Land, walk around the shops, have a drink in the Rose and Crown and get to Germany and grab a wine in time for the fireworks.
Epcot was so quiet and after IllumiNations we strolled round to meet the girls and we all walked out together, as the girls all arranged to meet up at Magic Kingdom on Monday.
