Saturday 12th June ~ High - Hot, Hot, Hot !!

I was woken around 8am as the ship turned and backed onto Castaway Cay. It was already a hot and sunny morning. I got showered and caught up with my trip report till Paul got up

We didn't bother with breakfast as we were looking forward to lunch at Cookies BBQ, so we disembarked around 9am and immediately ran into Chip N Dale. We walked towards the family beach taking photos of the ship and running into Capt. Jack Sparrow and Stitch along the way

As we've always had the girls with us on our previous cruises, we had never had the opportunity to go to Serenity Beach (the beach for over 18's). So we caught the tram down to the bay

It was lovely and sunny, but very hot too, so we relaxed by the water, sunbathed and I read too

Around 10am I had my first Konk Kooler (but only to cool me down ~ yeah right ), then around 11.30am we went to Cookies BBQ for lunch. The food was wonderful, we had a huge piece of steak, cheeseburgers and salads, it was all very nice, the only thing that let it down was that it didn't serve cookie dough ice-cream

Then after our lunch we went to the Castaway Air Bar for another Konk Kooler

Although it was very hot this morning, it had been cloudy too so it was bearable to sit out, however when we got back to our loungers the sun was blazing down and it was just too hot to enjoy sunbathing, so we caught the tram back to the family beach

We sat at the Conched Out Bar and I ordered a couple of drinks (where I found out it was Happy Hour - which made us very happy ) and Paul went to Cookies to get some Cookie Dough ice-cream

So after our ice-cream and a couple of cocktails we headed back to the ship, stopping off at the She Sells shop to buy a couple of t-shirts

Once back onboard we quickly got showered and put the TV on to watch the England v USA game. Once Gerrard had scored we legged it down to watch the remainder of the match in Diversion, but sadly England were rubbish and the US equalised thanks to our goalies butter fingers

At 5pm we watched from Deck 10 as the ship left Castaway Cay

Once back at our stateroom we started packing, as we wanted to make sure that our cases were outside our room before 11pm, otherwise we would have to carry our cases off the ship tomorrow morning

Next we got showered and ready for dinner, we then stopped off for a cocktail in the Promenade Lounge

Tonight we were having dinner in Tritons, and it was the 'Till We Meet Again' menu. We both started with Chicken Sate (Satay), then I had a Lamb dish and Paul had Grilled Beef Tenderloin, and for desserts I had the Baked Alaska and Paul had the Sweet Temptations trio of desserts, it was all very nice

It was also one of our tablemates birthday, so our servers brought out a cake, we sang Happy Birthday, and we all shared her cake

Next we went to see 'Till We Meet Again' in the Atrium where lots of characters come out for photos and autographs and put on a little 'Goodbye' show

After the show we went back to our stateroom and finished off the packing, we put the cases out to be collected and went to Diversions to have a final cocktail with our fave barman Samson

Sadly during our final drink an announcement went out 'Brightstar, Brightstar, Brightstar, stateroom ****', which meant that someone had been taken poorly. From what I've read on the DIS a woman took ill, and was met by an ambulance when we reached Port Canaveral .. I hope she made a quick recovery

Not long after we said goodbye to Samson, we headed back to our room, where we found our final towel animal

What a good day again Mandy & so so hot in the sun. Did you hear anymore about the lady that was poorly , i hope she was ok in the end & made a speedy recovery, not nice being ill on holiday.

WOW ... a perfect day on Castaway Cay. We hope to spend more time in Serenity Bay when next call in to Castaway Cay ( no kids in tow !! ) . I definitely have the konk cooler on my list aswell. That cookie dough ice cream is divine

Lovely day Mandy - so glad you and Paul finally made it to Serenity Bay. I've never eaten at Cookies (at the family beach) so not sure how the BBQ compares but we love the adults only BBQ

I can't wait till our next visit to Castaway Cay next October.

Castaway Cay is beautiful, it looks so peaceful and very relaxing.
