Saturday 19th June ~ High 90'sF
We were up around 7am and after showering, we finished packing and set off for the Virgin check-in at DownTown Disney. We were there quite early, and already there was a line ahead of us
I think we finally got called over at 8.45am. We weren't too shocked to find that one of our cases was well over the weight limit, and although we were given the option of moving around some things and throwing some stuff away, we really couldn't be bothered so we just paid the $50 excess (note to self ~ don't buy the girls so much stuff next time
)
We left DTD and headed to DHS for an hour. We rode Tower of Terror, which had no wait, and then RockNRollerCoaster (20 minutes wait) and we had some fruit bowls before heading back to the Pop
We had arranged a late check-out, so we lay by the pool for an hour, before spending our last few hours in Epcot
We arrived at Epcot around 12.30 and we wandered over to World Showcase. I grabbed a quick cocktail in Mexico (I hope you're appreciating all these drinks I'm forcing myself to have for the August Quiz
)
Anyway we sauntered around World Showcase and got to Tutto Italia in time for our 1pm ADR
I had Minestrone Soup to start, and Paul had melon and parma ham, then we both had the Lasagne, and I had my final cocktail of the holiday, it was a lovely last meal there
Sadly we had to leave Epcot and we set off for the airport. We dropped off the car and quickly went through security. Once over at our terminal, I did one last bit of shopping for the girls (some Britney Spears Circus perfume for Becky). We bought some sandwiches for the flight home and our plane 'Virginia Plain' left on time at 6.15pm
Our flight home was uneventful and we both had a bit of a sleep too. We landed 1/2 an hour earlier than expected, and we had to be bused to the terminal as the gate wasn't available
There was a huge line at Passport Control, but once we went through, we saw our cases on the baggage carousel
We walked through the terminal and back to the hotel we started from, where our car was waiting for us, and after a 1 1/2 hour drive we were home, where we were met at the door by Kerry & Becky
and I'm pleased to report that they were thrilled with their presents
Thoughts
Well what can I say ? I don't know where to start, all I can say is WOW ! What an am-az-ing holiday.
Our holiday of firsts began with ~
Leaving the girls at home
I think the whole guilt/worrying about leaving the girls at home was a lot worse before we left than it actually was. We spoke everyday, and mainly on Skype, and most of the time with the time difference they were safely tucked up in our bed

Polynesian Resort
I'm shocked to say that although we enjoyed our 2 nights there, it didn't really feel any more special than The Pop Century. Our room was nice, it was great being in a Monorail resort, but for the extra money, it didn't have the WOW factor we had the first time we stayed there
Staying at Port Canaveral
We really enjoyed spending the evening before our cruise at Port Canaveral, and we would definitely do this again. We liked the Country Inn & Suites and loved dining at Grills too
5 Night Cruise
We absolutely loved our 5 night cruise. Spending an extra day on board (compared to our previous cruises) was the best. We really enjoyed stopping at Key West and being able to relax on Serenity Bay at Castaway Cay was wonderful too
Pop Century
As daft as it sounds, other than the Disney Wonder, when we pull into the Pop Century car park, it feels like we're home. We love this resort. It's fun, we love the Computer Pool and the Food Court and the buses run regularly to the parks, this is our home from home
Staying at Portofino Bay
Oh my, I didn't expect to love staying at this resort as much as I did. I wish we had stayed there for a couple of nights so that we could've enjoyed the restaurants and bars there too. It was such a beautiful resort, and it really did look like a little village in Italy, it was so picturesque. I really, really hope we stay there again
Harry Potter Land Opening
In one way, if I had known that we would have had to wait over 5 hours to get in, then I know we wouldn't have bothered. But at the same time, I am so glad that we got to see it, and I can't wait to go back when it's a lot quieter and to go on the rides
Finally
Thank you very much for taking the time to read my trip reports and leaving your comments too. It has been fun reliving my holiday with you, and I can't wait to be starting my next pre-trip report
