Thursday 4th January ‘07

:cake: Just to give you a little bit of background to today, during this holiday both Paul & I were celebrating our birthdays, and on our very first trip to WDW (way back in 1998) Becky celebrated her birthday. So the only person not to have a birthday in WDW was Kerry. When we first booked this holiday, she wasn’t too happy that we were having our birthdays out here, so we said that she could choose a day and we would celebrate her birthday early (as her birthday is actually the end of January) and that we would do it properly with presents etc. So Kerry chose the 4th January and I made an ADR for the Princess Storybook breakfast at Epcot for her. We had bought her 2 pairs of jeans back home, we were going to buy her some tops in WDW and her main present, a phone would have to wait till we got home.:cake:

So, back to the trippie …

We were all up at 7am, and Kerry opened her presents of Jeans, Aerosmith T-Shirt and Bon Jovi T-Shirt from us and another T-Shirt from Becky. :bday:

Once we were ready, we got in the car and went to Epcot for 9am opening. Paul and Becky went to get FP’s for Soarin’ and Kerry and I went to get a Birthday Button for Kerry. We rode Soarin’ and Mission:Space and picked up FP’s for Test Track. Our ADR was for 10.30am, so around 10am we wandered up to World Showcase. I love walking around here when it is empty, so we took some photos and checked-in around 10.15am, where I told the CM that we were celebrating a birthday.

We were called in about 5 minutes later, and the girls had their photo taken with Belle before we were seated. The breakfast had changed a little since the last time we were there, the last time there was a plate of fruit and a cinnamon cake, but this time you could go and help yourself to cheese, fruit and danishes etc first. A few moments later the skillet of bacon, scrambled eggs, potato casserole, sausages and biscuits (those scone like things) was brought to the table.

The breakfast was lovely and we ordered another skillet (well you’ve got to get your monies worth ~ LOL) and we were visited by Snow White, Aurora, Mulan and that most famous Princess – Mary Poppins ??? :rotfl: :rotfl:

During the breakfast we gave Kerry another present, and she was chuffed to bits to receive the phone that she was after (and not expecting till we got home) which Paul had managed to find on ebay.

After breakfast our server brought Kerry a cookie in the shape of a Viking helmet with the Norwegian spelling of Happy Birthday on it and a birthday card from the Princesses. For once, we actually bought the photo of the girls with Belle as it was lovely and made a great souvenir of Kerry’s birthday.

After leaving Norway we rode Test Track and then we went back to the Pop to relax by the pool. When we got back, we found that MouseKeeping had decorated the table with loads of towel animals and even a towel cake complete with candles ~ Kerry was thrilled with it.

Late afternoon we went back to Epcot, where I’m sure we had tea, as unfortunately my notes had run out for the day, though I know we had a great day and Kerry felt that she had celebrated a proper birthday Disney style, and she loved it when the CM's would say Happy Birthday Princess to her.

Cool towel animals that Kerry received for her birthday.

Did she bring one home or did she leave them all behind.

I'm not sure of the proper etiquette on those things since we've never received any while staying at the POP Century :confused3

Sounds like a great birthday. I hope to celebrate one in Disney one year.

So far both my parents have celebrated a birthday in WDW - hoping i will next year! Think i may need to have an "unbirthday" this year too!!
