I know the issue of the DND placards being removed and a change in policy being announced has been covered on other threads, but there is a specific aspect of this that is being mentioned that I have a question about.

I see people mentioning that there will be a mandatory room inspection every day. Where does this info come from? WDWnt, a Disney focused blog says this here. But they don't cite any source for this. The photo's posted of the new placards mention Disney reserve's the right to enter a guest's room, but it doesn't say they plan to exercise that right every day. The only "daily" changes I can find are that DVC resorts will be given daily trash removal.

That's all I've been able to find, too, if you're looking for actual statements from Disney. Everything else seems to be extrapolation or speculation.

There are many news reports (this one cites the same blog mentioned by the OP.) But the OP was asking about statements from Disney. I would really be interested in seeing that if there is one.
Yes, I personally haven’t seen anything from Disney but many news reports said they spoke with Disney. It’s still murky, but I do think their intention is to access each room every day, be it housekeeping or something else.

Which news report said they spoke with Disney? That's what I've been looking for.

Sorry, I’ve read so many. I thought the one I posted did but must’ve been the wrong one.
Seriously, I haven't been able to find even one that mentioned a statement from Disney. Not that I've had all that much time to look. I'm interested in an original source rather than the same blog cited by numerous reports.

This mainly impacts Disney Vacation Club which only gets maid service every 4th day. For hotel guests, the rooms are already entered each day by the mouse keepers, so no change there.
A subtle difference is that the “Do Not Disturb” sign has been changed to “Room occupied”, but there is no way to forbid Disney from entering by putting out a do not disturb sign.

The do not disturb sign didn’t forbid Disney from entering the room. The resort would usually grant the guest’s request not to enter, but they always had the right to enter whenever they saw fit.

Just to get back to the OP's question, has anyone found any statement about this new policy from a Disney spokesperson?

If you reserve a room, the new policy is included in the terms and conditions.

Also DVC members got an email which said:
"Your in-room experience has never been more important to us. That's why we will begin removing trash from your rooms at Disney Vacation Club resorts on a daily basis in addition to regular housekeeping visits. The daily service begins December 22, 2017, at five resort properties (Bay Lake Tower, Polynesian Villas & Bungalows, The Villas at Disney's Grand Floridian, Disney's Grand Californian and Aulani). The service extends to all other Disney Vacation Club resorts on January 7, 2018."

There have been Disney statements to the media which have acknowledged the security component of this, but I have not been able to find a press release.

Yes I received the DVC statement. What are the Disney statements to the media? Where can I find a report from someone who said they talked to Disney? That's what I've been looking for.

The official wording just says “they reserve the right” to enter, which was really always the case. It is interesting, given the reports of daily visits, but maybe it isn’t their plan to always do daily visits. Like usual, they’re not so forthcoming lol.

I need to go through the posts again to look for reports of visits when the new sign is on the door and the people aren't keeping it up 24/7. I'm just trying to find out how different things are in practice (through credible reports) or through statements by Disney on how they intend to implement the new policy. There have been some far fetched reports that I don't believe.

I've found a couple blogs that quote the Disney policy about reserving the right to enter rooms. Then they'll just drop a statement like Resort employees are now required to enter each room at least once per day.

But that info doesn't show up on any of the releases and material produced by Disney. My skeptical self tells me it's the sort of interpretation that gets pageviews more than anything, but I'm willing to be convinced.

The closest I've seen is DVC trash pickups happening every day instead of every 4 days. When they were every 4 days, how did trash pick ups work? Did housekeeping just barge in and take your trash at unpredictable hours of the day?
