Anyone ever visit the Mandara Spa at the Grand Cali? I'm thinking of booking the Mother & Daughter Paradise Massage. It's on the pricey side so I want to know if it's really all that!

Any spa experiences would be appreciated.

DH and I had the couples massage there two months ago. It was on par with any other spa massage I have had. But probably twice as expensive. They also tack on a steep 'service fee' as well as tax and then you are also expected to tip. I decided I would probably skip it next time. If you are there for a special occasion and money isn't a huge issue it might be worth doing once.

Have you tried looking into the Burke Williams Spa?

It's at the Block in Orange. They have a fantastic spa. It has a steam, sauna, gigantic hot tub, relaxation area, multiple showers & vanities to get ready. All for a price lower than mandara. It's about 10 min away driving if that. The taxi may make it so the price is comparable to mandara but the experience beats it by far.

Also, the block has shopping, dining, & movies if you want to make a day of it.

Now granted, I have never had a massage at mandara but have had a tour of their place. maybe they have :wizard: masseurs? and if you're looking for just a quick 1-2 hour break from disney then maybe mandara is the place for you. but i've never been let down at any burke williams.

oh yeah, if you're going before christmas eve. i can send you a coupon for 25% a massage for you & your dd or 20% one person at bw.

I can second Burke Williams. :cloud9: We love them - went a lot, before we had kids. Need to go, now that I have them.... :rolleyes1

I've done Mandara in Vegas and definitely agree that it is way too pricey. The atmosphere is nice, but the spa isn't even as complete as their Vegas ones.

If you have the money to burn, it will be a lovely experience. If not, then opt for Burke Williams. I think the cab drive will be less that you expect and worth every penny. The Block has great shopping and good restaurants.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think we'll skip Mandara this time around and possibly look into the BWS.
Thanks for the offer, blue donkey! I'll shoot you a PM if we decide to go. Our time is limited that night so I'd have to check on how the timing works out.

hope your girlie spa day works out for you. either way, you'll have a great time at the dlr.
