Hi guys:)

Even though our trip isn't till July 15, I like to be organised and have been thinking about travelling to the airport etc.

We want to stop either onsite or close by to the airport to do sundown bag check in.

Questions are:
Which hotel is easiest to stay at? taking into consideration the sundown check in. We're going from terminal one.

When are the sales generally for cheaper room rates?

Which car park will be easiest/most convenient? I don't want to use a service where you hand over your keys and car is taken offsite.

Thanks for all the help so far, this is a fab forum! :)

We have never been able to do twilight check in at manchester as the bag drop with VA has only ever been available in the morning! But Radisson Blu is hands down our favourite - you're in the airport and it's a two minute walk to the terminal. Their parking service is great too.

We are staying there again three weeks today in readiness for our New York flights :)

I had a look at radisson :) it looks really quite lovely! Can you park at the hotel?

Thats exactly what I want, to be able to get up and stroll to the terminal, stress free and on holiday already :)

For ease Radisson Blu is definitely the best, but can sometimes be a bit dear - if it is out of price range then Bewleys is also a good shout. They offer parking and there's a free shuttle to the airport. I've stayed there before and it's a good alternative!!

Looked at the price for radisson and for the convenience I think we'll go for that one. They even do early breakfasts (3am-6.30am), going to wait for their jan sale before we book:)

Call me a cheap skate but if got an early flight I stay at Premier Inn freight terminal and leave the car at Jet Parks normally.

Another vote for the Radisson. For location it can't be beat. We have also used their parking service. As I remember it we had to drive it to a car park nearby and then get a shuttle back to the hotel. Coming back was just a case of catching a shuttle at the arrivals doors.

The Radisson Blu at Manchester Airport is without question the most convenient hotel. Leave your room, walk down a corridor from the hotel reception and there is airline check in. Fab. Quite a nice hotel too. Nothing exciting but good size rooms which are reasonably well maintained given the guest turnover. But they drive your car off site when you hand your keys over. Then when you return they drive it back and it's there waiting for you. We have done this more times than I can be bothered to count and have never had an issue. Mileage on our car has only ever been 4 miles between dropping off and collecting.
